We have tried numerous times to teach Jack to self settle with no real success. We have tried music, books, bath before bed, drink of milk, a couple different teddies/toys (which I had up my nightie a few nights each so they smelt like me

), a dummy which he only chews (although I didn't push it too hard).
I am feeling quite lost as to where we go from here. He just seems to fight sleep as much as he can. You can see his eyelids start to droop and then he will do something to keep himself awake i.e. stand up, stick legs through bars of the cot etc
I am going to get the No Cry Sleep Solution from the library when it becomes available but I wondered if anyone else has had this problem of their child fighting sleep. CC or CIO are not an option for us as I personally don't like them. My only other thought is to just leave him to muck around until he finally decided to go to sleep (with us still in the room otherwise all hell will break loose) but I am worried about how long that will take.
Any ideas?
