Tummy Tub

Has anyone used a tummy tub? Are they better/easier than a standard baby bath? Can you use them for NBs?

Here's a link. I've been told they're very good but always helps to hear from people that have tried them.

I wondered what these are like too. From memory i done a google search with tummy tub in the header and came back with results you could try that.

On another note has anyone bathed their bub in the kitchen sink without the dishes of course?

Looks like the same shape as a plant pot so surely you could use one of those instead? A lot cheaper!

Yep, fingers crossed she keeps getting better. Taking her to Jamie Taylor (Osteo) was the best thing we ever did. She's only had one app so far too. Got another 5 1/2 hour stint last night then another four, then down for a morning nap, then down for an arvo nap and she's still asleep.

I shouldn't jinx it though lol......

Make the most of it while they are sleeping as they need less as they get older and then once she starts to move all hell breaks loose.

Friends have these, both found it good for different reasons. 1 liked it cos her baby was small (and still is) and was able to bath her in the tub for a long time and she liked the fact it used hardley any water. The other uses it as both her kids have reflux so don't lie flat and the tub was great for making bath time less stressful. We have a large round bucket (bigger than a normal bucket but not as high) and we used that for a while, have also used the kitchen sink for both of them as well. They don't care so long as there is water.

I never had one with Alyssa but really wanted one for Kayla and luckily enough I got one as part of my leaving gift from work.

It definitely uses less water, and I find it easier than I ever did trying to support Alyssa up in the traditional shaped baby bath. (As you can see from the pic they can actually support themselves due to the shape and way they sit in it..I didn't put much water in this one as it was more like a little paddle on a hot day).. Plus, it's easy to carry when it has the water in it so filling and emptying is sooo much easier. So all in all it's something I'm glad I have.

Originally I was umming and ahhing about the price but would have bought one anyway if I hadn't been given it. I never found a substitute "bucket" which has the same shape and is as strong around the top.

Ventouse births are rough hun, big hugs! TBH I think they are far more traumatic for Mum + Bub as opposed to caesers. I was torn to shreds and couldn't walk properly or lift him easily for weeks after.

It's a shame those tummy tubs are pricey, I can see why some would prefer them in comparison to traditional baby baths. Would depend on size of bub too, Lucas wouldn't have lasted in one of them for more than 3 or so months, very long and chubby.
