if the 2nd line is lighter than the control line does that mean I am close to ovulation? took a test today (CD 8) and it came back with a lighter line than the control line.
I think its possible to get a line lighter than the control line anytime during your cycle except when ovulating.
Is this your first month of using them?? With me a got a line which gradually increased in darkness until it matched the control line then after o it decreased again.
I would think that because you are CD8 that you may be on the way to o-ing, just keep testing and it should get darker until o day.
I always have a pink test line on OPKs which gets darker close to Ov - but it's always clearly visable even nowhere near Ov... You can't be too far off considering your CD9...
I had two light lines about the same then forgot to test the next day and then the day after that I had the control line way darker than the others.
Another month I tested I had the control line darker, then two light lines the same then really obvious test line way darker than the control.
Anyway my point is that the test line seems to get darker around ov. Then after ov it goes back to being lighter again.
Keep testing and I am sure you will see the darker line-it is super obvious. It is a good idea to test like you are so you get the hang of when to test next month.
I've had faint lines a lot of times and a couple of days fade in/out but never had a line that completely 100% matches the control line or is darker - would it have been that I missed the surge even though I was testing a couple times a day?
thanks Freckle, that's what I thought. About 6pm and 10pm and then tested the next day at 10am at work (very tricky, involving much skulking around near toilets)
Ha ha, I can imagine it!! I did an Hpt at the mall last month which felt very weird :-)
Yeah I read somewhere the whole peak can happen in 6 hours so even testing twice a day you can miss it if that's the case... lucky you have fade in and out makes it much easier eh... Same thing happened to me this month - got two close to pos then a neg...
