What do you do?

So far we have put all the pillows in the lounge, snuggled down and had breakfast watchng Hi5.

We have played playdough and puzzles, even though we do these everyday.

Now we have a bucket of warm water and various containers and shes playing with that.. Messy but i have a towel around the bucket and covering the floor.

What else can i do?

We dont have paint or id do painting.

dolls? Ella spends ages feeding, bathing, pushing her dolls in the stroller etc

books- we got a couple of books which have pictures of everyday objects (animals, people, clothes, cars etc) and Ella spends a lot of time just looking over them and pointing out her fav things. I am also in the process of making a 'book' for her of all her fav things and people

make a playhut? we put a sheet over the dining room chairs and crawl around them,

baking? Ella loves 'helping' me make biscuits (and then eats the left over dough).

I make a gingerbread men recipe and Ella helps making all the shapes in the mixture. I normally make the whole recipe up and then freeze half of it to use another time.

also you could just turn the stereo up and dance around the living room

and we do the gingerbread as well. spotlight do big letter shapes that you can buy.

dancing is another big one.

Blowing and catching bubbles, colouring in, cleaning the house (for some reason littlies seem to want to help lol), balloon volley, collages..
We also watch Baby/Little Einstein, catch rain outside or jump in puddles, dress ups and dancing or action songs

Tom loves his crayons (washable crayola..and they do come off thank god!) and the other day I downloaded some colouring in sheets of the wiggles, pooh etc.  He loved that.  We have made huts.  he likes to watch but then loses interest....boys!  Dancing doesnt work for us. tom is too cool to dance.

I have baked with him..its a mess but he seems to like it.  We have done scones and muffins.  He even remembered rubbing the butter into the flour with the scones and wanted to do that with the muffins.  It is messy but fun.   We then washed the dishes....twice!!!  But he wanted to drink the water and eat the brush...nice!!!

How about a trip to the library?  or go out to a cafe together.  She can have a fluffy and you can have your drink.  She will feel pretty grown up.

baking, crayons (cleaner than paint!), hide and seek, reading books, dancing to music, building towers with blocks, dress ups, trolley derby (if you have a trolley, put her in it and race around the house). And let her play independantly too. Somtimes, even though it is wet, a trip out is good for both of you. Go the local library or mall and do a walk and talk. Puddle jumping is fun if its not too cold.
