I started taking Blackmores B6 (it said for pregnancy)
However I also have a b12 deficiency, which is a bad thing if you're trying to conceive (as important as taking folic acid) and the lady at the health shop said if I take the B12 supplement, then I will also need a B complex so my B groups don't get out of line, and if I'm taking B complex then my B6 supplement is too high.
Long story sorry... haha
Blackmores looks good though :)
Hey Lizze --- I have a B12 deficiency (have about 7 injections every year or so) and I was never told it could affect conceiving. We've only had 2 unprotected BDs, and got pg twice, so I don't think its affected me at all! Although I know being low while pg is bad .... have just had a shot the other day as I was really low and had quite a few when pg with my first, as I got anaemic from vit b12 deficiency.
Sorry to thread-jack! Just thought the comment re B12 was interesting. Was it a doc who said that, or just a health food shop?
I was taking the blackmore megaB which had a bunch of other B vitamins in it. My luteal phase was 10-11 days and I got pregnant (took ages but it did happen).
Forgot to say mine started as only 8 days, I initally used vitex and that got it to 10 days and then started taking B6 and then usually it became 11 days (and the occassional 12) with some 10's. Vitex is meant to be a great one, but it made me feel really weepy and depressed so I stopped taking it. But I don't think I heard anyone else have that side effect so might be worth trying that (or both). Generally takes 3-4 months and sometimes your first cycle is a bit weird as it sorts itself out eg my ovulation day was day 20 that first month and mine is always much earlier than that.
