Hye ladies. I have doen a search on this topic but they are a couple of months old so I wanted to start a new one to get some more recent replies.

Ive just spent two nights in hospital with high blood pressure being 150/108. I have had tests etc done but no sign of toxemia as yet.

I am now at home and have to go back on tuesday for another check, half expecting them to lock me away again. Horrible hospital rooms. Yuk. No Tv, yuck food, gross!!!! Anyway I guess only time will tell and if it means looking after my lil man then I will just have to stay.

Ive been getting tingly feet, faintness, light headed, slight headaches, swelling etc etc.

Anyone else suffer from high blood pressure and has not developed Toxemia?? Any other experiences.

PICK ME!!!!
i experienced high blood pressure in my first pregnancy and was constantly monitered, bloods taken etc... had growth scans etc... never developed into toxemia, but was induced at 39 weeks for the best for me and bubs.

second pregnancy absolutly NO issues, my BP stayed fantastic.

this pregnancy has been worse than the first, and i am now having to take YUCK meds, and i say yuck strongly. my BP is still rising and while at hospital the other day it was 177/118 pee showed traces of protein so had bloods and urine done urgently, which came back all clear. had to double the meds, and it has left me all BLAH. really tired and breathless.

BUT i am getting induced tomorrow morning at 39 weeks exactly, so i know there is and end to it.

and it was around the same stage in pregnancy that you are now that it started for me, hopefully you can get onto it quickly and things go well. it sux, and its scary i reckon. the meds im on methyldopa are apparantly safe while pregnant but i still have my doubts about putting things into my body and now im on quite a high dosage too, double yuck.

anyway.... to answer your question.... yeah i have suffered high blod pressure (pregnancy hypertension) without it developing furthur into toxemia.

TAKE CARE rest up..... look after yourself and keep us posted..... any Q's just ask im starting to feel like a high BP expert! lol.

i developed it when pregnant with x, ended up spending a week in hospital to monitor me, then was let out for the weekend - had to go back on the monday, and was induced then as it had gone back up again. She arrived on the tuesday, her due date :)

it is the hardest thing in the world to rest and try to keep your bp down, but at your stage evey day you have baby in there is better for him. At least if you dont develop toxemia they will let you go natural - i think once you have that then it is closely monitored for a c section.
The hospital is SOOOO boring, take lots of books and try to read if you can. You will be so sick of it by the time baby is here, and then you will have a few days after as well in there still! good luck, i hope you dont have to go back in for a wee while yet :)

No stories to share, just wanted to say I hope your BP behaves itself and doesn't develop into preeclampsia. When I was in hospital a couple of weeks ago I shared a room with a lady who had preeclampsia and they had told her that lots of Omega 3 (fishy stuff) helped control BP.

OH Kellie, you have really had it bad, i hope you don't have to stay there again. Maybe they will induce you and then it will be over and you will have little Jaxon.

Take care of yourself and Jaxon.

I had pre eclampsia with Andrew. High BP and the puffiness was enough to drive me nutty and drive the medical staff nutty. I had to be on bedrest for 3 weeks. Never listened to this and was up shopping and doing the nesting thing.

My advice, so don't do what I did and take the rest, so much better for your body.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I had high blood pressure with both pregnancies, mainly due to stress and weight but nothing came of it.
Fingers crossed you dont have to go back to hospital.
