Not sure what to do about this so hopefully you wonderful people can point me in the right direction. Really I'm just too scared to ring my MW just at the moment.

I woke up this morning with really painful feet and the bottom of them are really swollen, its a struggle to walk on them they hurt that much. Am I being silly and not ringing my MW in case there is something wrong? Nothing else is swollen that I can see at this stage. But it so hurts to walk and to put any pressure on my feet.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

There is a good possibility that it might not even be pregnancy related, so give your midwife a ring and get checked out and sorted so that you don't have to be hobbling about in pain. Try and keep your feet elevated, drink lots and lots of water and get to a doctor/midwife ASAP to rule out anything serious. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

Hey Becks, I agree with Maree - it might be something else but it would be a good idea to ring your midwife ASAP just to rule out anythign serious. I know its scarey but chances are you will find it is not as bad as you thought and then you can relax... good luck!

I agree to call ur midwife and she should be able to point you in the right direction etc if it is only water retention i highly recommend the peppermint foot ointment from the body shop i got hubby to rub it on my swollen tootsies and it worked really well

I went and saw my MW, my BP is up and the swelling is the whole way up my legs. my pee on the stick showed + with protein. We aren't worring about it too much now, but if the swelling gets worse I have to call her back ASAP.

Here's hoping you can get your Andrew being nice to you (I haven't mastered it with my Andrew yet) so that you can have a rest with your feet up ... while drinking lots of water.
(If the swelling gets worse, with the protein already showing up, I'd ask for a blood test to check kidney function just to make sure you don't have a bug - or if you get a temp)

H there sounds like my problem at the moment with swelling and high blood pressure. Luckily I only had traces of protein. Take it easy and rest heaps or you might end up in hospital like I did for a couple of days. I am home now and rest has made my swelling go down alot. Take careand good luck with it all. Keep us informed.

I was in hospital with Andrew in the last few weeks of my pregnancy with him with this. I'm really angry that it is happening agin so early in my pregnancy. So i'm resting up with my feet up and not doing much apart from my studies - 2 assignments due next week. I'm only going out when I have to and I was meant to go to a class today but oh well i'm sure it wasn't that important.

I am so resting, I went to band practise last night and told the musical director that I may not be around for the end of year concert as its already started. He was sweet with it, but his concern was the competitions that we have coming up in 2 weeks that include a street march - I may not be able to do the march which is fine for me but not good for the band. I have a test today at uni so I have to go to that but i'll spend the rest of today doing small amounts of house work and sitting down doing my assignments.
