Topic: Chicken pox look alike Posted: 21 April 2009 at 10:45pm |
Alia has some little blisters on her left arm that look like chicken pox but she doesn't have it any where else.
She had a massive dose of chicken pox at NY so I highly doubt that she'd get it again.
Any ideas?
They are a little itchy.

It could be hand, foot and mouth? They have blisters too. Otherwise shingles which is a follow on from chickenpox.

I was convinced Ashleigh had pox once, all the symptoms, the blisters looked very similar and everywhere, all through her hair and ears etc. The doc at A & E took a swab for some reason and it was just a standard viral infection.

They are on her forearm which is kinda weird, they have gone down today ie not fluidy.
It does look more like shingles but it's only on her forearm not any where else, just checked her entire body.
Might phone the Dr when they are open & speak to the nurse.
Christ Kelly....if she didn't have chicken pox at NY then it was one nasty viral infection!

You can have chicken pox more than once, so it'd be worth getting her checked out.

Apparently only if you have a light dose...
Here is Alia on day 2, her whole body was covered like what you can see under her arm. She'd just discovered what she looked like in the mirror so wasnt' allowing photos.
And on day 4, she bounced back that day in time for my brothers wedding.

Kelda. How interesting that you have found this.... I am wondering if there is something in the atmosphere at the moment or in the water here in palmy... simply because.....
Paris has been coming up with hives like that for the last nearly 48 hours, coming and going back and forth in different places. We tried to figure it all out but there's nothing new that we can think of that's causing it. went to docs and given antihistamine.... funny though, mike's mate has had this last 2 days too very randomly, my younger sisters boy also has had them turning up and going away.....
how is she now?

Hmmmm She's her usual self but after our walk tonight turned her nose up to the suggestion of dinner so we said no dinner + bed time & she went to bed when we got home & to sleep.
The ones on her arm are now dry.
Dunno, but I've had really itchy eyes the last couple of days.
Looking at those chicken pox above, these ones didn't have the really red rims.
Will check her over in the morning again.
