Topic: RANT!!! Posted: 25 April 2009 at 3:22pm |
i posted on a topic about midwives ...recommending mine some time ago....my MW just txt saying someone on here said that wat i put down wasnt good for her rep ........ MW and Hubby and myself have just re-read the post and are totally confused as to why this lady would say that ........but i would like everyoone elses opionion pls so i have copied down the last bit of what was written......
she was a nurse before hand ............my friend tried her but said she didnt feel comforatble with her .. so everyone is different........MW LITERALY saved me and my babies life ...........due to a botch up at the hospital she even brought me sushi which somehow she knew i was craving lol.........anway she is a lovely lady and my hubbie also picked her because she understood the 2 cultures and respected our wishes and she new how to tell me to pull my head in........she is like my 2nd mum now and we have been in contact all the time. all the best with your friend and goodluck with you I am an honest person and we would luv to here anyone input good or bad....as am a little unsure how this could be ruining MW's rep....thanks

Hmm...
That post wouldn't put me off your midwife. I'm not sure what part they'd be refering to.
I guess it could be " friend tried her but said she didnt feel comforatble with her". To my mind, that's not that off-putting... everyone's different and you're pretty clear that you liked her a lot! I'd expect different people to gell with differnt midwives.
Or maybe "she new how to tell me to pull my head in" - this might not be what everyone's looking for in a midwife? Still, doesn't strike me as particularly out of line.
Nope, not sure sorry!

i personally dont see anything wrong with it. surely those are pretty little things to be upset about and it just makes it realistic. i almost suggest she pull her head in (in the nicest way possible) she seems really good so i dont understand how that could in anyway be bad for her rep

I agree with Hopes. If I was really looking, I'd pick those two comments, but in the context of your post, I think they are fine. I wouldn't worry about it any further

From your post she sounds like a brilliant midwife but is being a bit silly and childish now. If i was looking that post would cause me to ring and ask for an appoinment to meet her. I wouldnt worry about it anymore as there was nothing in what you said that would give her bad rep. It was honest information and thats what you want in a recomendation

Geez, if thats supposed to be giving her a bad rep, id hate to see what she would have said if you had actually said anything negative about it .
I think its fine

Thanks guys............apparently this person from here said that she wasnt happy with my comment and would not go to MW cause of that...............and if the person is reading this i would luv them to PM to tell me why............and when i did post it if someone had questions i would have hoped they would have asked them ...everyone is intitled to an opionion and i respect that .......didnt think i was that scary anyway or maybe its my boys pic that is scary

The person is probably going to go running back mentioning this post now too
I personally don't see anything wrong with what you have written and I wouldn't be put off by any of those comments, now if I was to write down all my experiences with bad mws in the South Auckland region ....THAT would be bad for their rep.

I agree.
And besides, her name wasn't mentioned, was it? So how would any lurkers know who she was, unless you PMd them her name - which IMO is fine

unless your mw said it to you directly i would be inclined not to take what this person said literally.
In my experience third hand stories should not be taken as gospel.

Looks like a pretty good endorsement to me. I don't know why she would think it's bad for her rep but regardless it's not up to her to censor what you write in a public forum.

Definitely doesn't sound bad at all.
Personally I'd be more pissed off that someone was "telling me off", albeit in a subtle way, or even questioning anything I say on a message board. FFS, you can say what you want. End of story.

OK so is this what happened, you posted that message then someone has gone to your MW told them that they didnt want to use them because of your post and now your MW has text you asking what you wrote type thing?
You def didnt write anything bad! If I was looking for a MW if your area then I would consider your MW based on your post!

so it sounds then like someone read your post, took it differently than what you intended, made it sound worse then told your mw... duh to your mw believing it without confirming...she is damaging her own rep by being juvenile about it.
i think that as mothers it is our job to inform others of our mw experiences, and if they did a bad job and their rep gets damaged then its as it should be.
if you were concerned you could tell her exactly what you said, chances are she hasnt got the full story.
