Topic: Honeychild heaven! Posted: 02 May 2009 at 4:02pm |
Well yesterday afternoon I was reading through this discussion board when I read that Honeychild mediums start fitting around 5kg.. Having been using only 5 smalls on Novella and washing them daily (using sposies to fill the gap) I've been anxiously waiting to pull out the 13 mediums we have for her.
And yay, they're now washed, stuffed and proudly sitting in the lounge waiting for lots of poo and pee and they fit perfectly!
Oh I my Honeychilds! I'm soooo happy we decided to go with MCNs

LOL glad you're happy with the nappies
I spent this afternoon picking out some smalls from my stock for our new bubs to replace the boring white Fuzzis Caitlin had
Nothing cuter than a colourful bum on a tiny bubba

I was planning on getting a couple of small Honey Child nappies to try, but it sounds like I should just get some mediums then! My boy is now over 5kg!

Max was 4.1kg at birth and fitted the small HC easily, they were a really great fit. At 4wks he's now 5kg and they still fit really well, on the second smallest poppers. I'd definitely recommend them

Gorgeous. Don't be too fast to move up a size though, Samantha is still in her medium honeychilds now at 2!

Whitewave - I would go onto the mediums if I were you - Novella isn't overly chubby and is quite long and they fit her perfectly.. She still fits the smalls as well of course and the mediums look quite big, but they haven't leaked at all and she does some pretty impressive poo explosions
Totally agree Twoblondinis - soooooo cute seeing her little tush looking so colourful.. And how fun is colour coordinating her clothes with her nappy!?!?

Im looking at using HC nappies and will buy the mediums. One question for those of you that use them. What do you use to wash them and do they get stained?

Hi Laurz - I wash mine using ecostore... Never use anything else, in terms of stains - I always wash mine at night.. any stained inserts I put outside on the line.. between a good frost and a dose of sun they come up white and bright.. No need to use whiteners etc...
Oh you're gonna love them - they are sooo easy to use and look really cute

Caitlin just toilet trained out of the mediums - definitely got our money's worth there!
I've just got a stash of smalls for this bubs - gone with neautral colours at this stage but hoping to find out what flavour bubs is at the end of the month then might have another ramage through my stock. I LOVE being an agent! LOL
As for washing, I've always used standard persil and washed on a hot wash. I've stripped my nappies maybe one or twice where I hear others having to do it regularly when using cold washes.
I also line dried when ever possible and all of our napies were in perfect condition when Caitlin finished with them.
Must say, I'm relieved she trained early and will only have 1 in nappies to worry about lol

I saw on the honey child website news part that they were going to run some kind of special for real nappy week. I kept an eye out but never saw anything.
Did I miss something or did their special not happen?

My boy has been in his mediums since he was a month old (he was 4375g at birth) - here he is at exactly a month in them They are quite big but haven't had any leaks
Sorry, just wanted to show off my cutie too
Oh and for washing, ecostore warm wash and dried in the sun works for us

I bought some Honey Childs today. I already have some Fuzzis but LOVE how soft the HCs are. So far I have 6 small Fuzzis and 3 small HCs, inserts for each nappy and 3 HC boosters. I don't want to overstock on the smalls - how many would be ideal before I start getting some mediums do you think?
ETA I'm aiming to be exclusively cloth if possible except for the first few days.

Max is 5kg and still fits a small with plenty of room to spare. I have 6, along with about 15 medium Itti Bittis.
