So, when did people tell their bosses that they were pregnant?
I was planning to wait till after 12 weeks when we were able to tell everyone. At this stage, noone other than me and DH know.

BUT with the lovely morning sickness going on, I'm not so sure I can keep it quiet that long.
Today I very nearly didn't come in, and also nearly went home at several points during the day.

I told my boss straight away - but only coz she's so lovely and because she was praying for us to get preg after our m/c so of course I let her know!
With Maya I kept it quiet, more because I'd only been in the job a few weeks, but my team leader (Maya's godmother) told the bosses anyway long before I even knew that they knew.

I told my boss's PA pretty much straight away because she was in charge of catering for our meetings and booking hotels etc and it meant that I got a nice room and meals . I told my boss at about 8 weeks but then didn't tell my employees until about 20 weeks.

I had my annual review with my boss when I was 10 weeks pregnant and he casually asked me when I was going to "start a family" I couldn't lie to him and told him on the spot - I think he kind of knew anyway because I had been sick a couple of times and he was half expecting it to happen soon. He took the news really well and was really happy for me |

I waited till about 8-10 weeks before I said anything with Andrew. This one I just said "have you heard DH's news" and told them I was pregnant as at that stage I was not happy I ws pregnant.

Thanks folks - so anything goes (as with most things).
I think I'll try and wait a little longer, unless it really does get unbearable in the mornings etc (today was the worst so far, so probably why I'm asking right now).
So far, since finding out, I've managed to get in here each day, but definitely not at full speed.

Boss asked me to tell the rest of the crew and I did and they have been great....well except for the "is there only one comments!!" Have been telling clients slowly but if they look at me funny i give in....

I haven't told them yet but I've had it fairly easy so far and have only had to miss work twice - once with a cold (2 days) and then with food poisoning (1/2 day). Don't think anyone suspects yet but will have to tell them soon....

I was lucky to have a month off work when I was 8-12 weeks pregnant, for our wedding. I didnt tell anyone before I went on holiday, then when I got back a few people started asking me if I was pregnant, so I told everyone then, at about 13 weeks!

I told my boss when I was about 10 weeks as I had a midwife appointment that I didn't want to miss but there was a major problem at work that I needed to be here for and it's not like me to not be here for those kind of things. So, I told her earlier than I originally wanted but she was cool with it and didn't say anything to anyone else.

we told everyone practiacally straight away. Let the family know first then work at around 8 weeks. My friend told work first and selective friends (me included) before letting everyone else know around 12 weeks.

I was suffering quite bad morning sickness so I told work really early and I am pleased I did. Although I haven't had time off for m/s I have had to take time off for colds, and they have been great and understanding. In saying that, only my bosses know, and a few close friends, the rest can wait till 12 weeks

I told my boss at 14 weeks - there was plenty of time after that for him to organise himself and he said he was surpised I had told him so early...?!?!?

Hmm, I actually ended up staying home yesterday, so not sure I will be waiting too long to tell the boss... Especially when this morning he said he's worried that I'm getting sick because I've got too much work and am too stressed. So, I'd rather tell him than have him worry that it's his fault!
But I'm finding it hard to get him on his own... we don't exactly have an open plan office, but all the work spaces are open, and people always seem to hear what's going on...

And I know that if I have to tell work, DH will want to tell EVERYONE (he's finding it hard enough to keep his mouth shut now).

Argh, yesterday was AWFUL!! Felt so disgusting all day, and threw up quite a bit (but did manage to drink a bit in the afternoon). Then this morning felt a bit lightheaded as well as nauseous... Ick!

Hehehe Jo - it's so funny when you said your DH will want to tell everyone!
I have not told my work yet but DH's work already know and have known for weeks! - he could not keep it to himself either! |
