is she awake when she comfort sucks? you could try slipping out your boob & in with the dummy. Only really works when they are asleep or half asleep.

perhaps something sweet on the end of it just so she'll take it? Bit of honey or something?

Definitely don't put anything sweet on it, that's a no-no!

What brand are you using, maybe she might take a different shape? We've been using a Nuk dummy, these are brilliant.

To get Cody used to his I just held it losely in his mouth and let him play with it with his tounge. He still doesn't really get a good suction on it so I normally position his hands in such a way that he holds it in by himself. Sometimes he even puts his hands there by himself. I didn't introduce it till he was a month old. So I would suggest that you keep trying and also maybe you could try a different shaped one.

we found the tommy tippe cherub ones quite good. they are really rounded so easy for bub to have in there with quite an open mouth like they have on the boob. Id try a different dummy to see if it works.
We hated them too but henry had reflux and it helped him soothe. At around six months we took it off him and he now sucks his thumb.

Jake is really lazy with his dummy, he knows its not boobie.. but if its all thats going he will take it.

Jake would comfort suck on me all day if I would let him!

Try a different dummy. We are using the newborn Avent...

Keep persevering! Benjamin refused to take a dummy for a start then all of a sudden two days ago I tried him again with it and he took it and settled beautifully!

I still have to hold it in there especially if he's really upset but I've definitely found that it's worked after he wouldn't have a bar of it for a start.

Good luck though - I wasn't a big fan of them either but I am a big fan of anything that helps to settle my baby!!

We used the NUK ones, tho he refuses to take one anymore, but I had to when he was little because I was putting him to sleep by letting him suck on my finger! the nuk ones touch the roof of his mouth.
We just kept persevering and eventually he took it, we would just hold it in there until he sucked on it.
He would only take it at night which I was happy with because I don't like them either, and now he doesn't even need it.

We use the orthodontic ones ummm I think its Avent.

We had used heaps of other types but Arianne found the orthodontic ones the best.

Arianne didn't take the dummy for about a month, we just kept trying and then she took it...now trying to take it away is the problem lol.

We use Nuk here too. If it's not the boob in his mouth it's either the dummy or his fingers.

I have found the dummy brilliant with soothing for silent reflux.

we always found the nuk dummies good! they were the only 1s that astin would take.

maybe try the tommie tippie closer to nature dummies, they are pricey but are designed for breastfed babies. Im going to buy some on pay day ($20 for 2!!)

The 2 pack makes sense when the dog grabs the only dummy you have! We have one sterlised in the fridge at all times! Now Jake has found his fingers he isnt using it so much, but if he is really unsettled he still needs to swaddle tightly.. cant get his fingers then.

A know a few people who are using the old school ones with the bib bulb looking teat. I dont think Jake would take it, but apparently its the only ones their bubs would.

Trial and error.

We have 2 dummies too, great when Cam decides to spit one on the floor or DH has misplaced one!

I'm finding Cam is not wanting his much anymore, so don't worry too much at this stage about dummy dependency and all that.
