Now that I'm a SAHM I don't have a spare 3hrs (or $140 for that matter!) to spend at the hairdressers but have never dyed my hair at home. Can someone recommend a brand? I'm blonde if that makes a difference??? I normally have foils done so will hairdye just make my hair the same colour all over? I'm so dumb when it come to this!

Also I read on some of the packets you need two packets if you have long hair, how long is long or is that just a marketing ploy to get you to buy more?

Hmm. I haven't dyed my hair myself for ages (best friend is a hairdresser)
Do you mean you are blonde and go to a darker colour?
My suggestion would be to go for a semi-permanent first and get a friend to give you a hand, because from memory you can make a right mess of your ears, neck, face and clothes!!!

No I'm naturally blonde and always get blonde foils. I thought maybe some brands would be better for blondes than others??

Use vaseline around your hairline and on your ears to prevent staining. If you have had foils before, your hair will absorb more dye on the lighter areas so will be two shades.

One box is usually enough unless you have super thick hair. Make sure your hair is tangle free and brush with a wide tooth comb after you have applied dye to distribute evenly. If you know someone who can put dye on for you it makes it much easier. I get my sister inlaw to do mine and vice versa.
Good luck

When i was blonde (hair down to the bottom of my shoulder blades) one box was enough and I used loreal ... the one where you can put highlights in it after the base colour and it always came out good
