Topic: Endometriosis and TTC Posted: 18 June 2009 at 12:07pm |
Hi Everyone,
I am a newbie at this, I have only just joined.
I was just wondering if anyone else has Endometriosis and is TTC?
My son Jamieson was conceived as a surprise to myself and partner 2 years ago. I was 21 years old. At that stage I had no idea the I had endometriosis. On the 27th May 2009 (3 weeks ago) I was told by my specialist that I have endometriosis and had my first Laparoscopy last week monday 8th june.
We are currently TTC our second child by the outlook is not good from what I have been hearing.
Since this grime news, I have been doing a lot of reading on the condition and what this means for my fertility.
Just wondering if anyone else is TTC or had any success stories? Hopefully give me some hope
Thanks

I have endo, and contrary to a lot of medical reports, have had no problems getting pregnant. I have had problems with m/c, but we will never know if it's related to my endo or not. However, I am now 26w pregnant with identical twin girls! I have been able to get pg on the pill (!!!!!), and these two were conceived on my third cycle after my last miscarriage.
Endo affects people differently - do you know what severity yours is? There are lots of women on here who have conceived with endo - some easily, some not so easily, so fingers crossed you are one of the lucky ones!!

My speicalist said that is is stage 3, but i am not still sure what that means. That is amazing, twins!! Hopefully we should fall pregnant soon, we didnt have trouble with my son, but that was when i was younger.
I think because of hearing everyones horror stories it has made me very sad about the outlook for us.
Its really good to hear a success story like yours, gives me hope thanks

i have endo and PCOS also and conceived both kids without trouble......after my first surgery i was told to give it 6mths and if we weren't preggy in that time, to go back and they would do something to help.
luckily, it only took a week or 2 for the BFP both times!
don't read into things too much and as hard as it is, try not to stress about getting pregnant

I have endo and lap surgery about 1 and half years ago, are looking to try in about 4 months so nearly two years later. It made no improvement to my AF pains so Im not so sure that it will have affected my fertility in any way either :(
Im hoping that it wont effect us much but my gyno told me that they can do another lap and then after 6months of healing you can TTC and that can help if thats the problem but he said its more likely ill concieve ok but may not be able to carry to term each time (watch out for MC)
SO i guess what im saying is well never know till we try, but being registered with a proper gyno will help as youll be able to be referred quicker if you do need help.
