I think 140 is considered the cut-off, according to what I've read. But it really is just an old wives tale, you know

Below 140 is a boy, above 140 is a girl. but it's a myth.

My babys HB is around the 150-155 mark and it's definately a boy.

I also read up on a study that has been done and there is nothing to prove that heartbeat relates to gender in any way shape or form.

yeah tastic - don't think too much intot he heart beat - as i said in Jan thread today that Brooke and Rhyley's was practically the same all the way thru and one was def a boy and one def a girl.

I dont believe in the heartbeat thing either.

Cadens was always 130-140, and this baby is the same

Well my boy (according to my 20 week scan) has had a heart rate of 130 - 155 right through so far.

My girl had a heratrate of 120-130 all the way through - we and even mw thought we would be having a boy with this heartrate

My mw thought i was having aboy by the heartbeat but nah, and she said she is usually 70% of the time right!!! But i also dont think it counts until 16-17weeks.

Jake was always 150bp, both my mw thought girl based on the heartbeat and the duty mw while I was in labour also thought girl based on the heartbeat. They were all wrong!

But yeah, 140bp is the cut off.

Kaelen's heartbeat was over 140 and so is this little girls.

well I found some old scan photos one of which had aidans heartbeat which was 150 - 153 bpm

this one at 12 weeks was 158 bpm
so I guess only time will tell

Ethan after first scan always 140-160 mw said for sure he must be a boy...well she had 50% chance of it being right:)

yeah don't read too much into the heartbeat thing trish......jack and charli's heartrates were within 1-2 beats of each other the whole way through pregnancy
