Topic: Tight clothing already?! Posted: 05 August 2009 at 11:12am |
I'm only just on 10 weeks and am already having trouble fitting my regular clothes. I don't have any sort of bump but have def. got a bit of a preggie 'pudge.' How long did it take for you to start breaking out the maternity pants?

With #1 it was about 12-14 weeks (something like that) when I tried on some maternity pants and found out how comfy they were so I switched
#2 - about 6 weeks lmao

Yeah I'm number 1 I'm not surprised though as I've been eating way too much junk food and not doing enough exercise.

my pants were getting tighter around 8 or 9 weeks and that was with number 1 I didn't go into maternity pants tho i just used a hair tie and looped it round my button and through the hole of my pants and then ziped them up.....works a treat!

I only had 3 pairs of maternity pants the others were my normal ones, I had to start wearing them around 6-7 months, can't remember when they started getting tighter some I was able to wear throughout my pregnancy.

I bought more stretchy pants, as opposed to proper maternity pants, at about 15 weeks. I can still fit 1 of my pairs of pants from before. The others were tight before I got pregnant though. I wear most of my tops still but have ditched a couple because they didn't cover the growing area.

I am not in any yet - but I do have to use a rubber band for my regular jeans (wear a long top over top and everyone is none the wiser!).
I don't plan on buying any jeans as summer is not tooo far away but will definitely need some preggie pants for work. Am probably around a few weeks away from needing them.
Everyone is different I have found though so don't worry about how quickly you need them, just be comfortable

I was little right thru my pg but I still found that by about 6wks I was in maternity pants cuz my regular ones just felt a bit snug - and the maternity ones were so much more comfy!

I bought some jeans at 10 weeks as my regular jeans were too tight and I didn't like the hair tye thing (though plenty of people do that). I bought some of the jeans that had the stretchy stuff where the pockets were instead of the whole elastic over the belly thing so I still felt like I was in normal jeans. They're starting to feel a little uncomfy now when I sit down but I've had 14 weeks out of them so I'm happy with that! (I got mine from max just in case you were after somewhere to get some )

I couldnt handle anything remotely snug around my lower tummy area from about 7weeks.....i had some maternity jeans already so just started wearing those....i was pretty much like that with all 3 of mine, just felt too uncomfortable.......I managed to pick up a few three quarter pants on clearance at the beginning of this pregnancy so figured i will need them, and even today i wore some cos it was nice and sunny....have also got lots of stretchy skirts for working but just picked up some bootleg pants from the normal section at warehouse, and they have a roll down waist so roll them up over my bump.......

Chickielou - Im the same. Im only about 9 weeks but I hate having snug clothing round my tummy at the moment.
whenever I sit down on the couch or something, I undo my jeans lol! The people I'm living with at the moment have all gotten used to it
I have a billowy 3/4 length skirt that has the kind of elasticy band on the skirt, which i used to just fold in half when i wear it, but i think ill just be using that as my belly skirt lol!
I tried the hairtie through the button hole thing which was comfy yes, but im afraid im gona sit down and fling someones eye out haha! Might head out soon and find me some maternity jeans. and something for summer!

Hmmm, I went through a 'uh oh, I'm gonna be a house' when I first got pregnant but then after the first trimester, I started feeling body-normal again and then didn't start showing until I was about 22 weeks. I stayed in my normal clothes all the way through my pregnancy (because I lost a sh!tload of weight through *ahem* not drinking ) and then started to use belly bands in my last trimester.
