Topic: So, today is D-day... Posted: 09 September 2009 at 12:06am |
... or should I say shave day!!
I organised a fundraiser event for the Leukaemia and Blood Foundation, and there are about 12 other people joining me in shaving my head at midday today, in the Wall St Mall in Dunedin.
Here is my "before" photo:
I am really quite nervous, I mean - it's just hair and it will grow back - but it's sinking in that I will be a skinhead at my brothers engagement party, my FIL's birthday etc. not to mention how short my hair will be at graduation in December!! I've always had long hair.
But mainly I'm nervous about getting my head shaved in front of a crowd.
I'm so thankful that I'm not doing it alone, and my hubby and Mum are doing it with me!
Wish me lots of luck and good fundraising, fellow OBers
ETA: Also a little worried about what Chloe's reaction will be when I pick her up from daycare tomorrow! Lol.

Good Luck Jane!!
I'm sure you'll get right into it once it all gets underway. Good on you
You could always pop on a hat when you pick up Chloe and take it off after she's been with you for a bit so she knows it's 'mummy'.

Hehe, thanks for all the encouragement!
Gosh it's COLD having no hair!
Chloe loves feeling my stubbly head, she thinks it's very funny and keeps saying "wow" and "cool" it took her a minute to recognise me at daycare but all good now.
I'm having issues with loading photos so I might give up soon and go to bed... but I will try again tomorrow.
You are all such lovely supportive people
