Why, yes I am! lol

That was mummy_becks' idea hehe

I found out today at lunch time after becks convinced me to go buy a test.

DH is still in a semi shocked state.

Now a question for those who know the systems well.

On working for families I used the calculator to work out how much we would be entitled to. Is there any other places we can look at to get some extra funds from to help while I'm off work? I did a search on here but couldn't find anything specific enough.

Very cool! Go check out www.workingforfamilies.govt.nz. Their calculators section (see left panel on home page) has calculations for accomodation supplement and childcare assistance too.

So... when are you due?

Congrats !

And I don't know if there's anywhere else you can look besides working for families in terms of straight out cash... I was really teed off because we aren't eligible for *anything* from the govt even on one (hubbys) income !

oh congrats....!!!!

as for the money - well depends on your income but i think the maximum (must relook into it soon) is about $370 (less tax?) per week for 14 weeks, or 80% of your income which ever is the lesser....for amternity leave.
The family assistance depends on your income...I cant tell you much there as we worked out we needed 9 kids before we were eligible...LOL

look forward to seeing your ticker....

here's the link to the post about maternity payments etc
Also Id give winz a call, unfortunatly you need to ring them on 0800 559 009 and get them to make an appointment for you, they will take your details and what it is you are wanting etc but they will hopefully help you

Good Luck
