After an unsuccessful ICSI/IVF and unsuccessful frozen embryo transfer with remaining 2 embryo's I've now found out my FSH level is 17 (and it must be under 16 to qualify for further IVF even privately funded as we have done in the past). My egg timer test shows very low fertility (less than 5) and my DH has had a failed vasectomy reversal.

Currently it looks like we have no further option to try and have a child of our own. Gutted.

It's a week until I get to see my specialist, and of course I'm 'worst case scenarioing' everything. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas of how to cope with the wait till we actually get to know where we go from there .......

Is this really the end of the road and do I really have to accept I'll never be a Mum??????????????

Tischler- I'm sorry I didnt want to read and run, I'm just like you with the worst case scenarios- DH gets really mad and disappointed with me at times due to it. I just really wanted to give you this Dont give up yet, wait and see what your specialist says, Frankly I think its crazy that 1 lousy FSH point is in your way.....Keep in touch and let me know what they say. Take care

I also didn't want to read and run, Tischler. Although I can't offer any advice, I wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you, and understand how incredibly difficult this must be for you

Hi Tischler
Im so sorry to hear about your current situation!! The only thing that I can suggest you try is accupunture! I know a lady (39 yeras) who reduced her FSH from 13 to 9 and put this down to accupunture....
Give it a go

Hi, thanks for your messages of support.

Wow, acupuncture - the one and only time I had it (for a back problem) I felt so dizzy and sick I had to stop. I'd have to think pretty seriously about it, but that's a great reduction in FSH!!!!!!!!!!!

Will give it some thought

Never give up on being a Mum, Tischler! I have just started Acupuncture to reduce stress and it is really helping. Try a different acupuncturest (sp?) maybe? Good luck sweetie

Hello Tischler...

you dont mind me asking how old you are? I have just turned 38 yikes!!! I am in the 2nd ivf/icsi process with my hubby having an unsucessful vac reversal too! grrrrrrh (bout to start Gonal tonight!)

My FSH levels were about 10 only 6 mths ago and recently 14! eeeek! that freeked me out!!! so this time it betta work!!! When i found out what that means i got quite upset realising my fertility days are numbered...
DONT GIVE UP!! i was told that FSH levels can fluctuate so if you had another test it may be lower again?

Did FA give you any indication why your first cycle did not work? its hard not to have answers huh..

i will look forward to hearing what your specialist has to say.. like i said before DONT GIVE UP too soon cause their must be a way!!!
I can totally understand how you feel about a desire to be a mother... i also have that same desire..

Hi mtjt - thanks for your message. I'm only 34 so it's really hard to hear my fertility is so low. My FSH was 6 2 years ago when we first went to the specialist, gutted it's got so high so fast (15 in May, 17 now).

Still don't really know why first cycle didn't work (guessing my body just didn't accept the embryo's) but will seek answers on Wednesday when we go back to Repromed.

Thanks so much for your support, I bet there's lots of us out there in this situation, but sometimes you just feel it's you and a useless body!

Best of luck for your 2nd IVF cycle, I so hope you get the little baby you want

Hi guys, just a wee update. Things are looking up for us. Our specialist has decided to 'disregard' (as such) my FSH level given the 'success' we had last IVF cycle (8/9 eggs fertilising) and the fact that I'm young (34) and a non-smoker, so we are able to do another IVF cycle!!

He's going to do a different drug regime to try to keep the length of time of injecting to a minimum, so BT day 2 of next cycle and we go from there!!

Thanks for all your support, you're all right - don't ever give up hope
