Im just wondering, i'll be having my baby late October and thinking since i live in a place that gets really hot and sunny over summer will i need to put sunscreen on him even if i have him in the shade or in the capsule when we are outside?
Im going to use all natural products and looking around, there doesn't seem to be any natural sunscreens for babies.

Any help appreciated

at that age you are better off just keeping them covered...

If you're really worried, go to a local fabric shop and buy some of that UV protection fabric they make kids swimsuits in, and make a cover to put over the capsule. I just kept light long sleeve/leg clothing on bubs all the time if we were outside, and stayed in the shade - remember your baby won't be moving to keep warm so any breeze while you're outside will help keep their temp down. On really hot
days, I chose to stay at home, we stayed inside, and that way I could open the windows and have just a singlet on bubs and she could have nappy-free time.

On Friday, Plunket told me not to use sunscreen on a baby under 6 months old, and to just keep them covered up.
And she also said not to worry about baby sunscreen, as its the same as adult sunscreen. Just test a patch on baby for 24hrs before smoothering them in it
Hope that helps

Thanks Stef, that does help! That's interesting about the baby sunscreen, i no it has bad stuff in it so was looking for a natural one (when he's old enough) so the one misscheeky found would be good i think :S
