well as much as we try to stick to the same routine it sometimes varies but basically Addison gets up anywhere from 5-6am has a full bottle and straight back to bed, next feed is around 4 hours later, she normally sleeps this whole time. then she is up for about an hour or so which is feed and play time then I just put her straight back to bed as soon as i see a yawn. Sometimes she has this feed in two lots, one at the start and then just before going back to bed but 9 out of 10 times she is put to bed awake and has to settle herself. then at about 6-7pm I will give her a bottle no matter what the day has been like and try to keep her awake till 8pm when i top her up, put her pj's on and off to bed for the night. If i dont keep her up for this last part of the night we are pretty much guaranteed to be up once during the night.

I'm not sure I can offer much advice on settling methods, as Erin has become pretty adept at settling herself, and we no longer wrap her for day sleeps (which is one of the things we used to use I guess). We do play her music though, she has a CD player on a little table next to her cot, and we have the Baby Einstein 'lullaby' CD in it. So that gets switched on just as we have put her in the cot, and left to run until it ends, and she is usually asleep well before that.

As for the rest of our routine... feeding times are (roughly) 7am, 10am, 2pm, 6pm, 10pm and she sleeps through from around 10:30pm. For all of the feeds except the 10pm one, she gets woken up and her nappy changed, then out to the lounge for her bottle. More often than not there is a break halfway through for burping, and then again at the end. After that there is play time, the length of which varies quite a bit, although she has been up for a bit longer lately. I usually wait for Erin to start yawning or rubbing her eyes, then give it 5-10 minutes before I will pick her up and put her back to bed.

Hope that is of some use to you ! Good luck.

In the Kaz Cooke book - Taming Toddlers - they recommend at 3 months feeding baby, playing with them for bout half an hour then putting them to bed to sleep and so on. Once u get to night add a bath in there so they know its bedtime for the night soon! They also recommend feeding them at about 10.30pm i cant do this coz Ella is to sleepy and wont drink lol i dont mind getting up if i have to at 3am

We've got Ashlee waking at anywhere between 7-8am, it's up for a quiet feed, nappy change and straight back to bed (no grizzles). Then the next feed is 3 hours later and she's wriggling and all energised and hyper lol coz I think she knows that she doesn't have to go back to sleep for a while! So feed, nappy change and changed into day clothes (if it's not quite 3 hours and she's woken and getting a bit grizzly, then we'll change her before the feed) then it's play time after that.

Ashy can usually go for near on 2 hours between feed and sleep, so once all the changing has been done, she has a play/kick with nappy off etc and as soon as I see some yawns or she starts tiny grizzles, then off to bed. These day sleeps she'll grizzle herself to sleep a wee bit more than usual. And she only is tending to sleep for 40-50mins at a time, so I get her up if she's lying awake in her cot and nappy change etc until it's a decent time to feed her again. All day feeds are about 3 hrs apart.

Then come the evening (and she probably hasn't slept from her mid afternoon feed to her last feed) has a play with daddy, bath with daddy around 6-7pm, final quiet feed, burps and cuddles with mummy and then daddy puts her to bed. It would be unusual for her to grizzle here coz she's usually pretty tired, and she knows bath time means bed soon. And she'll sleep right through and it starts all over again!

Ok, so I should tell you that my routine gets knocked for six for weeks at a time but still she has one that is best for her (and me!) but I'll name both for ya!
And remember that Olivia is 5mnths and sleeps to that age group.
Routine #1
wake up 7am
sleep 9am
wake up 11am
sleep 1pm
wake up 2.30pm
sleep 4.30pm
wake up 5pm or 5.30pm
down for the night at 7.30 or 8pm
Routine #2
wake up 6am
sleep 8am
wake up 10am
sleep 12pm
wake up 2pm
sleep 4pm
wake up 4.30 -5pm
down for the night at 7.30 - 8pm
Factors like lack of food, lack of sleep, sickness and teething interrupt them and switch them back and forth every other day but I don't mind!
Sometimes Olivia has days where she will only sleep for half hour stints but will still stay up for 2 hour slots at a time.
I also have a Punket "sleep and play" guide that tells you how much sleep bubbah should be having at what age and what age appropriate toys they should be using if you're interested!

Our routine is:
I wake her at 7am - she feeds within 10 mins, has halftime burp & nappy change, then she goes straight back to sleep.

I then wake her at 10am - she has her bottle (always a halftime burp), nappy change & dressed, playtime with Mum, then I'll put her in her bouncer or under her playgym until she starts to get grizzly/tried. She's usually up for about 2 hours here.

She then wakes herself around 1pm-2pm. I try to drag it out to as close to the 4 hourly feeds as I can, so this might mean playing with her on her change table etc until 2pm. We always do the same "wake up, feed, haltime burp & change nappy, feed, play, bed". Again she's usually up for approx. 2hrs.

Depending on what I've been doing during the day (i.e. at home or out) she occassionally stays up from her 2pm-6pm feeds with a few "cat naps" but she always goes down for a sleep between 6.45pm and 8pm. This is great as it gives us "Adult time" and a quiet dinner.

Bathtime is 8.30pm approx, depends if she wakes up earlier or is cranky. She has a bath & massage, bit of quiet time with us (just cuddles on the couch), then her bottle at 9.30.

Bedtime is 10pm and she sleeps through until I wake her at 7am.
A lot of people say this is too late to have her up, but it works great for us and most importantly she's sleeping through the night. It's also a great routine for when I go back to work next Tuesday (SO not looking forward to leaving her! ).
At the moment she's only having a bottle at 7am and back to bed. But when I'm working she will have her bottle then we'll leave straight after to drop her off at my Mum's and I'll go to work from there. Dunno what we'll do when she starts to have food for brekkie?!?! Might just have to get up even earlier

I haven't ever asked my plunket nurse what I should be doing with regards to feeding, but perhaps I should because my baby seems to be doing things differently to everyone else?? I have always been on demand feeding and am not sure when/if I am supposed to be setting up some sort of feeding schedule or if she will just start drinking less on her own?

Alyssa always demands a feed after a nappy change (she will not stop grizzling if she has a wet or dirty nappy so I have to change it as soon as I notice)and most of the time it can be every hour or so during the day with just short 15 minute catnaps in between. Sometimes she will have a 3-4 hour sleep during the day but not always.

The only routine we have is that she has a bath at 7pm and then goes to sleep at 9pm. She will wake up for a feed around 5am and then back to sleep until about 9am, then she's definitely up.

I found with both my boys that their feeding and sleeping patterns stabilised after they started crawling. Taine wasn't bad at night before, but now he is so active that he NEEDS two hour naps during the day. Before they were moving about, they fed kinda on demand and slept during the
day erratically.

*cough*bollocks!*cough*

We do pretty much the same thing, although we finish up for the night about half an hour later (10.30)... and we'd usually be up that late anyway, baby or not !

*edit*

Meaning to say, you're doing really well and I agree 100% with you

Olivia fell into a routine when she got diagnosed with reflux, so I can only imagine what it would have been like if she had no reflux! But like I said, my routine is knocked about so much it's not funny. It wont be until her next lot of jabs are over and we are in our new house before something else happens to get her completely off track.
I remember my midwife telling me that it isn't important to concentrate on the sleep routine your baby needs, but it is important to concentrate on what routine your baby needs when it's awake. Which is why they do the whole sleep, feed, change, play, sleep thing.
When Olivia is awake, we have the same routine.
First wake
feed
change
play
sleep
rest of the day
change
play
feed
sleep
end of the day
play
bath
bottle
sleep
I insert extra feeds when ever Olivia wants them, she has always been a demand fed baby as well and she is on the bottle!
