But in saying that, some people dont get theres for over a year! Oh and I was fully breastfeeding then too, cos that can stop you getting it back.

I stopped BFing at 7 weeks and only got my period last weekend (nearly 13 weeks after CS).
My GP still exclusively BFs her 10mth old and still hasn't got her period back, she didn't seem worried about that at all.

i didn't have a CS but i still haven't got my period back and it's been 11 months now. it can range alot, it usually takes longer for women who are breastfeeding to get it back i think.

I stopped breastfeeding after 4 weeks, and only got my proper period back yesterday ! So even if you're not fully breastfeeding / bottle feeding, it can take a while to get back to normal.

yip, it varies. with my first i was expressing and feeding via bottle for 6 weeks and when i stopped that my period came back the next month. second time i breast fed exclusively for 5 months and then stopped and again my period came back around 4 weeks later.
this time my bleeding stopped at 6 weeks and so far hasnt returned, but im not exclusively breastfeeding, so will be intersting to see when it shows up, i reckon it will be soon.

I got my period back at 3mos with each of the girls (or was Briona 2mos?! I forget). The first one was c/s and I exclusively bf until 3-4mos+
But in saying that I have a friend who has had 2 c/s, she bf exclusively for around 3mos but didn't get period back until 6-7mos each time.
This is one thing which doesn't seem to base on what happened to your mother. Mine seemed to get her period back after she stopped bfing OR at 12 mos whichever was earlier. Yay for the 12mo holiday!!

It took me with Andrew 6 or so months (so long ago mow) to get back into the swing of things again with my period. I stopped exclusive bf at 3 weeks and fully stopped feeding at 5 months.

It's so different for everyone. I had a c-section, stopped b/feeding at 6 weeks and still haven't got my period back (though I'm thinking it's on it's way veeeeery soon).

I exclusively breastfed for 5 months, and got my period when Joshua was 3 months. I had a c-section, but dunno if that makes a difference? One thing I've noticed though is that it is really light - it always has been, but it's way lighter than it used to be.

I menstrated through the first half of my pregnancy with Kiya, but once that stopped I didn't get my period back until she was 15 months old... and I breastfed her until 6 months.
I bled on and off through my pregnancy with Josiah, afterbirth stopped after 4 weeks and I got my period back when he was 2 months old... and I breastfed him until 8 months.
I'm finally having a pregnancy when I don't bleed in some way! I'm hoping it will be like with Kiya, and I'll get a real break
