I know you can tour Birthcare, but I don't imagine you can tour National Women's, can you? I've just been asked to find out by one of my support crew who comes from another area where they do allow hospital tours.

They used to do tours, but I think they stopped them & just have a virtual tour on their website now.

How long ago was that, Bizzy? I can't find any info on their website but just in case they are still doing them, how did you book in for one?

Sorry Treen, you can't. I went to Auck Womens twice a week for appointments and even my hospital midwife wasn't allowed to show me the birthing rooms, NICU or anything. Due to staffing & security issues which I can understand.
ETA: In saying you that, you can freely go to the hospital and walk around level 9 but you won't see much at all.

we did the tour in 07 and DH came with me...was good and in evening etc...and there was a waiting list to get on it....
they did only show you a few rooms tho and you are not allowed up to the ward where bubs are at all....but was cool to see set up and also know (as we had risk of early delivery) how far away the preterm care unit was from the ward....
