That's terrifying. I can not imagine how scary that would be - especially with 3 small children in the car.

Sounds like something my ex would do, hmmm he lives in Rotoua. Some crazy guy jumped in my DP's car last weekend and threatened to hit him! He was drunk and thought dp was trying to hit him with his car. Glad he had the wits to defuse the situation as it could have ended much worse.

I had a similar thing happen to me a few weeks back.
we were on our way home from the city and were coming along glenbrook rd towards waiuku when a guy strated following really close behind me (it was my partner, my 5 year old daughter and I in the car and as you see on my ticker i am very much pregnant) he was only about 1 metre from the back of my car at times.

he was making me drive faster than i wanted to so i tapped my foot on the brake so the brake lights would come on but so my car would not actually slow down causing him to crash into me.

he then passed me on a blind corner and pulled in close in front and slammed his brakes on causing me to slam mine on to avoid hitting him, all the time with his fist out the window shaking it at us. (my tummy was a bit sore after this from the seat belt but bubs kept moving normally so i figured he was alright.

he then drove off fast i thought that was the end of it but no. as we drove on we saw that he had parked his car on a side road and was getting 2 big metal poles out of the boot, as we drove past he shook them at us then ran to the car and got in and followed again.

i was sh*tting myself but DP told me just to keep driving normally, he was right up behind our car again for a few k's down the road when he finally pulled to the side of the road and turned around.

about 1 more k down the road was a police officer by the side of the road, i wish he would have seen what had happened.

It scared me so much so i feel for those poor people in the story cos their ordeal sounds much worse.

Sheesh, some people are just plain crazy! Very Scary Tania. Did you call the Police?

Jazzy, DP said the guy who got in the car was a realllllly massive island guy and way bigger than him! Not much chance of him being able to lay him out!

ETA : erh, spelling mistakes.

Flip - that happened in my town!?!  I wonder if through all that one of them managed to get the driver's licence plate?  How scary though, their kids are similar age to ours.  How awful for the child in the attacker's car!

My babies:

I was not talking about the guy that got into your DP car, there is not much you can do there but to talk your way out of it, bet he locks the doors now, & that would of scared the hell out of me.

I meant if a driver of a car got out & walked up to us using threatening behaviour my DH would of got out & if the guy did not F off he would of laid him out, for the sake of protecting his family.

Think I would prefer to try and get out with out escalating the violence. Too much chance of things getting worse. I mean I know its not so common in nz but what if they had a gun? My ex is pretty crazy, I wouldn't put that sort of behavior past him. Once (when i was pregnant) he followed this guy back to his house. The guy accidentaly cut him up. He got out and started swearing at the guy and threatening him. He only backed off once they guy pulled his cell out of his pocket and started dialing the police. I have never been so mortified in my whole life.

ETA: locked doors AND in future he says he wont stop when someone jumps out in front of him!

Geez!!! What sort of car was it?? and what road did they turn down? I have had some assholes follow me real close heading home as well, its scary as when I have my kids in the car.
I would still ring the police and report it as they are probably one of the low life scums that live along that road, always causing problems!
