I have heard good things about them, and I was going to go there until I found out that I could go down the road to the local radiology place and get scans for free.

We used them for all our scans for both our babies. They are fantastic
Granted not cheap with the last 20 week scan costing $120 from memory.

We go there and they are great! I am very overweight and they've never had an issue getting some measurements like another place I went to did.
They have a package deal now which is something like $250 for all the scans you need during your pregnancy. Really worthwhile if you need more growth scans, etc but because you're already past your NT scan it may not be worth it for you.
I think you need a referral but not 100% sure there and you get given pictures of the scans and a dvd of it (not for a dating scan). They do 3D scans as well so you usually get a 3D pic and vid of bub also.

You will need a referal... but they are AWESOME!
This is based on prices 08/09....
Pre NT scan free unless vaginal (I actually got a disc and a couple of pics for free too.. might have been cos DH wasnt there and poss mc)
NT$95 including pics and disc (follow up if needed free but if another disc wanted $30)
Anataomy $95 including pics and disc (follow up if needed free but disc $30)
Growth scans $35 (extra for discs but i got free prints and he tried really hard to get me some good 4D ones everytime but Jake would hide!).
Given that it was 9-15months ago they have probably gone up a little... the $250 would have been great considering I ended up having so many scans.... We spent about $300 with them....
They are all so lovely.. Richard can be a little off putting but he is considered one of the best in the country....

I can also recommend them! Often if problems show up with scans & they need to be redone, they refer onto Insight.

The package that they offer is fantastic value if you need extra scans. The quality and service is also great. Much better than other places I have been.
Melnel, im pretty sure that the prices that you have are correct.
They dont do scans without a referral

I had to pay $125 for a growth scan there at 40 weeks in December 2009, so it has gone up from $35!

How did you have to pay so much!
I just phoned them and they said $95 for growth and $95 for anatomy.
I think I might just go to a place that charges $50 since I will already be getting a foetal echo at starship,
Does anyone know if there is a place on the shore that does 4d or is there only the dominion road place??

I went and checked my online banking and it was $95, not $125 - sorry! I knew it ended in a 5 and was expensive!

They have a great rep and if you are finding out the sex they are very very accurate apparently.
I've found them lovely to deal with.

Thread hijacking maybe a little, but in Wellington we paid $40 for our dating scan and got a picture and disc with it, for the anatomy scan I was booked in at the hospital so it was free. In Auckland is it not possible to go through the hospital for the anatomy scan?
For my next growth scan it will also be at hospital and therefore free.
Is it choice to go to an independent radiologist and have to pay?

I went to Auckland Xray services for anatomy/4D scan (terrible experience, so wouldn't go back), but from memory was only about $40 for a CD of heaps of photos, plus a DVD of the 3D/4D imaging. All my other scans (pre-NT, NT and scan at 41 weeks) were done through Horizon radiology and all free of charge. The anatomy one would have been free there too I believe (I think if you want a CD etc you have to pay more). Horizon were totally fab.

There is a horizon I think at AUT on akoranga drive I *think* that does 4d but insight do them too..
If you think you are going to have more than 3 scans might be worth paying for the package.....
I cant believe how expensive the growth scans are now!! Trying to encourage people to take the package obviously!
I think they are worth the money, we are skint but will still be going there over other radiologys.

Bonus!! Im too impatient to wait!! and I have a heart babe so wnat a very good check on the new one
We went to dominion road last time - at 19 weeks - when we were diagnosed with Millas heart condition - it was a 4.30 appointment - was clearly obvious there was someting wrong - at 5 to 5 they said oh yeah your baby has a whole in her heart , didnt really explain it at all and then said well we close at 5 so you will have to talk to the specialist about it and basically kicked us out - do not recomment them -
Is that the same place as you blondy?? The apparently arent doing diagnoistic scans for anatomy anymore - just growth scans and 4d cosmetic pics
Hijack away Kalimerella - you can get them at the hospital - but its usually when tehy thing something is wrong or mum has a pre exisiting condition - or you have a sick babe before like us - we are going there but just to check our babys heart.
I would have got the package deal had I have known about hem in the begining but now that im 17 weeks and may not even bother with a growth scan i figured $95 for one was worth it
Cant wait to fond out if its another girl!! I hope soo!!

Well they picked up my first daughter's IUGR while doing a check on her presentation (breech) and were great about it. Very very careful and made sure that the ball wasn't dropped right through to when I had my C-sect.
This time they did a check of #2's bloodflow early on as a benchmark and kept an eye on it just in case - without having to be asked.
