We are currently with Compass but have problems with it going off line all the time e.t.c so am wanting to change providers.

With Compass ph line rental is $50.70, Broadband is normally around $35 a mth for 5GB, toll calls are always under $10.

So what I am wanting to know is who are other people with? do you like them, and is it a better plan then ours?

We live in a rural King Country btw.

Oh I am interested in seeing some replies to this thread as we are looking at changing providers.

We are currently with Telstra Clear for phone and broadband and I can't fault them. I have prob had 1 outage since being with them in the past 2 years. Not sure on price as we have a package with digital.

We are with Orcon, they have a range of plans - ours is $80 a month for phone line and 5GB internet.

Im not too sure if they cover all of NZ yet tho? We were with vodafone before that, and got sick of them. They have good start up deals, but once that finished it was pretty expensive.

I'm quite happy with Slingshot, used to be with Telescum , not good I tell ya.....
Anyway we have the fastest Broadband they offer for $50/month with 25GB and fastest possible up/download speed as well as a homeline for $45/month and 'big mouth' free calling to nz/aus landlines for an extra $20/month.

I'd recommend!

We're with telecom - home lite package: $90 per month: landline, 5GB broadband and a nominated national landline we can call for free any time (my mum!).

We don't make many toll calls anyway so bill is always under $100.

Broadband seems fast enough for what we use internet for but we don't download music or movies (except occasionally from itunes).

I'd love to complain about telecom but we've had great service, helpdesk is helpful and no dramas *touch wood!*

We are with Telecom, I think we pay all up approx $120 a month & we have 40GB for $80 (could be less), BB with Extra.

No major problems, we shopped around, but cause we use heaps this is the best deal for us.

I guess it depends on how many GB you will use & how important speed is, it does pay to shop around if you are not using much.

We have a package deal with Telstra Clear, I'm not sure about the rest of the country but Wellington/Kapiti and Christchurch too I think have the 'lightspeed' internet. I can find out prices if you're interested. Or you can look online and see what might suit you Telstra Clear Website.

We get phoneline rental, 2 digital decoders for tv, 40gb internet for a set amount each month, but we pay extra for certain channels like sports and movies.

We've found them really good, and they always ring us to let us know before we go over our internet usage. We get email notifications too when we have 25% remaining which is also handy! And we've also just had our internet upgraded to 50gb a month free of charge for customer loyalty.

Same plan as Jess however we opted to have the downunder plan which is $19 a month gives us unlimited calls to all national and australian land lines which I need here due to everywhere but here being a toll call.

I love it and when I had an issue with Telecom they handled it really well and refunded us big time and we got extra BB for the month after their stuff up.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

They all sound really good, though all seem to be around similar prices. Think I will ring up some companies and tell them what we want and see what packages they can offer.

You might be able to twist their arm into getting a better deal, e.g tell them what you get now and for how much and see if they can offer something better...

We did that with our electricity company and managed to get a good deal lol

we are with xnet, for $82 for 12 gig. It includes a voip phone line so you have to have a voip router and a modem to be connected. DH is in IT so he knows about all this stuff - and is hapy with it - Icouldnt care less, as long as I dont have to wait for ages!

I do like the look of orcon though - does that use a telecom phone line?

We are also with Telstra Clear and pay $105 for phone line, free national calls and 25gb broadband (wireless). If we go over that 25gb we pay another $30.
