they are gorgeous aye, but they are a lot of work arent they? I cant remember what it is but there is something about that breed that makes them a lot of work or something.

I love them, but yes they require a lot of exercise, and the struggle in the heat of NZ as they are usually snow dogs. Our neighbours had one, he was so lovely... actually not sure what happened to him.

lovely but very, very, very active. And if they dont get enough excersise they get bored easy and then start to get naughty.

Ummmm that breed is great and you will get what you need - they can sound like a newborn baby crying when they howl!!!! seriously it is freaky!
A lot of exercise needed as they are historically sled dogs etc and can go and go and go....
Hey collies are a great breed too!

I'ver heard - and this could be an urban myth - that huskies don't smell, and other dogs hate them because of this.

But i love them too!

Is that a Malamut or a Husky? Dhs friends had a Malamut in Hamilton and it seemed so cruel as he just struggled so much in the humidity in the summer. He was a gorgeous dog though!

one way to solve the hair problem is to have outside dogs...ours live outside and arent allowed in - unless they sneak in or come for a quick cuddle....

I think the breed standard has blue eyes - but check out the NZ kennel club website to be sure of what the breed entails etc....

Malamute - http://www.nzkc.org.nz/br602.html

Siberian Husky - http://www.nzkc.org.nz/br642.html

and of course - my fur baby http://www.nzkc.org.nz/br520.html

Yer they shed like any dog but ours will be an outside dog. Im gonna make shade areas for it so has somewhere cool to lie and also will take it swimming lots coz we are gonna move to param so off to the beach we will go

I can understand that it seems unfair in the heat to have them but i would rather have one to own than have it sitting in boarding kennels or what have you waiting for someone to buy them. Im sure if it was such a big problem they wouldnt sell them or breed them here.

our dog is a bit the same, he is breed for water and has a really thick coat but he is fine, thier bodys regulate thier temperature anyway. So are you definately getting one?

Yea female huskies don't smell. They are the best dog in the world - we will be getting on when we have the room. They are very active dogs. I love them soo much. Have you seen the movie SNOW DOGS there is a few of them on there.

Hehe my dad calls kobe mustang for some reason.

Next dog we get is going to be a retrodoodle retreiver poodle cross. Ive had my newfoundland which i love but they really are to big and i cant walk him or anything plus its hard with the kids, its like having another toddler in the house!
