Topic: Provera Posted: 16 February 2010 at 7:02pm |
Just a quick question for those who have used provera before.
I have just had my first lot of provera and just wondering how long it took for everyone else for AF to show up?

It took me about 1-3 days (normally by day 1.5) after taking the last pill for AF to show. some people can take up to a week. I hope that helps, and I hope she shows up soon for you

Hi Jem
Unfortunately for me AF never arrived, after two weeks the doctor just started me on the pill anyway. I think they have put me on a long cycle to compensate.
This probably won't happen to you though as my problem is hormonal (oestrogen deficiency) and I don't menstruate at all anyway but they were hoping the Provera would force it to come on!
Hope you don't have to wait too much longer

next question how long does it normally take on average to ovulate when on clomid. I am starting my first cycle and hoping it works, but Dh will be out of town for a while on the 15th of march.

Hi Jem, it is different for everyone (and depends whether they've got the dose of clomid right first time). What dose have they started you on? For me, the follicles have developed where I would be 'expected' to ovulate on CD 16-18 when I've been on 100mgs Clomid (I've only actually had one confirmed ovulation), but I think other girls are anywhere from CD 10 - 18 on it. Feel free to come and join us in the Clomid Pill Popper thread by the way, I'm sure all the other girls would be happy to answer any questions there as well .

Hi Jem,
I think everyone is different - pre-clomid my cycles varied from 24 - 37 days, once I started on clomid they were bang on 28. I ovulate at day 11 or 12 when on clomid. But I know some of the other girls don't till day 16 or 17, as Ceres says. So I think it all depends. I am on 50 mgs too and have been lucky enough to ovulate and produce 2 good sized follicles each round - they just haven't fertilised!
I know quite a few people who have conceived first try on clomid so best of luck to you. Hope you ovulate prior to your DH going away.

Baby died though, at 8-9 weeks
