Topic: Name Opinion Posted: 24 December 2006 at 5:36pm |
Dh and I think we have worked out most of the babies name now, but we are stuck on the middle name (one of them), so now I am after opinions, there are 3 options, one of which dh is not so keen on but thought I would throw it out there.
1) Jack Dylan Grant
2) Jack Campbell Grant
3) Jack Bradey Grant
Just as an FYI, Jack is dh's fathers name, and Grant is my Dad's name. The second middle name is because we don't like Jack Grant without something to seperate them

Jack Dylan Grant is also my favourite (hope it's not the one your DH doesn't like!) I think #3 is supposed to say Bradley? Anyway that would be my second best, as Jack Campbell is a bit tricky with the ck-C sound - hope that makes sense lol
Baby names are such fun!

I also like #1 the best :) As a bit of a name nazi, I can't see anything in that name that could be teased obviously - though children are incredibly inventive with things like that!

Hmmm I'm stuck then. I'm not sure that I like Bradey as a name - not meaning to offend! - but I don't like Jack and Campbell together like that Hope some others have second favourites for you!

Yeah, I don't really like Bradey either. It is used as a cute short form for Braedon, but as a name by itself it isn't really a man's name - if you know what I mean? Bradey is cute for a kid, but perhaps not the sort of name you would happily tell people when you are a strapping man. (PLease feel free to ignore me - I know I think too much about names some times!)

My first thought with Jack Dylan was he might get called JD as a nickname!
I think Jack Grant sounds fine next to each other
I hope you and your hubby can agree on one soon...

I do agree with you Miss about Bradey being a cute boy name, not a manly name, but also wonder how often people actually use their middle names anyway.
We do think we have made a decision now (4 hours in a car on Christmas day can do that), but still not 100% sure. We could also wait till he comes out. Is hard as when we found out he was a boy I suggested one of them, and we agreed but then the indecisive husband mentioned 2 days ago he wasn't sure, but all along I have been thinking of him as 1 of the above.
Bradey for those that are interested is the name Miranda from SATC called her son (I am a huge fan of the show!)
