Topic: Amber bracelets Posted: 20 March 2010 at 4:42pm |
i was looking on trademe and saw amber bracelets, they said they are good for pregnant woman. this got me interested so i have done some reading on it and it seems there is lots of benefits of wearing amber jewellery.
One site states the benefits as Restoring Energy, Maintaining Wellness, Pain Relief, To help break a cycle of (chronic) inflammation. and i have also read that it can help with depression
i know about amber necklaces for teething but do any adults wear amber jewellery? I have been feeling a bit down lately and also having pain from AF (we are having problems TTC) so am thinking about getting one but am interested if anyone has tried them?

I got a necklace when at about 5months preg and i wear it everyday. I feel a lot calmer wearing it. I wish i had got one sooner. My DD also wears a necklace too and it helps her with her teething and eczema also.
We have been through hell since we got preg with this baby( DH got diagnosed with a brain tumour and had treatment and also lost his job recently) but I still have been calm which is totally not normal for me so I do recommend you getting one if you are feeling stresed and a bit down. Whats the worst that can happen if you try it??

I bought my amber necklace when I was pregnant with my second child and had exactly the same experiences as Noisybaby. I felt a lot calmer and not so stressed.
Give it a try. It is definitely worth it!

I brought one to help with stress and anxiety. Hard to say if it makes a difference or not, but i do seem to be a lot calmer. Wether its just a placebo effect or what... who knows!

Yeah, I wish I had got one sooner. I am definitely more relaxed and less stressed. And the colors are really beautiful too.

Huh interesting, would wearing my amber earrings work as well?
How much do they cost and where can you get them from?

The amber has to be directly against your skin to work and needs to be a significant amount too. Bracelets should fit like a watch and not move around alot like a bangle. If you are using it for pain relief it needs to be close to the source of pain to be most effective. I did a heap of reading before buying DD's one.

This is from The Crystal Bible by Judy Hall...
Mentally, Amber stimulates the intellect, clears depression, and promotes a positive mental state and creative self expression. It brings balance and patience and encourages decision making, being a useful memory aid. Emotionally, amber encourages peacefulness and develops trust.
It has the power to draw disease out of the body. By absorbing pain and negative energy, amber allows the body to re balance and heal itself. Amber alleviates stress. Wear for prolonged periods, especially on the wrist or throat. If treating babies or children, it is beneficial for the mother to wear the stone first.
There are a few stones that can help with TTC too, carnelian and citrine both stimulate the female reproductive organs and increase fertility. Both are also good for feelings of depression.

Lil miss has had hers on since she was 4 mths old, and she's now 20 mths, and I've only ever taken it off twice and it's survived really well. A couple of the beads have come off, but coz they're all individually knotted it doesn't matter too much.

I got a bracelet when I was breastfeeding, partly for the amount of pain I have when BF and partly to remind me which side I had fed off. Found it worked fine, still had pain but it was less than before I started wearing it.

you will need to look on Ebay since your not in NZ, but you will find more choices and probably be even cheaper
