Hi, just wanted to let you North Shore and Rodney ladies know that if you are looking for an alternative place to stay or birth at......I would highly recommend Warkworth Birthing Centre. After Thomas was born last Monday I spent 4 nights up there and can't recommend it highly enough. The place is so nice and quiet and very homely and the surroundings just great. The meals (and choice of) were so much better than hospital food (I had roast dinners most nights) and the staff there were very helpful both day and night. It is also great if you have toddlers or young children visiting as they had a playground and toys to entertain them. Best of all....it's free!!!!!!!

I was born there (was known as Warkworth Cottage Hospital). I've had some friends who have had their bubs there and they all rave about it too

That sounds great. Why dosent Tauranga hav anything like that. We only have a hospital which you get shoved out of quickly cause it is too small and never enough beds....Think it is big enough to get something like this...

I have been there with all 3 of mine and plan to go there after #4 is born too! It's so lovely and relaxing and quiet The ladies are awesome and you don't have to do anything but bond with your baby for a few days
Isaac is 6, Ethan is 4, Rico is 2 and Hunter is almost 1!
