teaching!

I had such a crap day. I feel that so often as a teacher, we are not shown very much appreciation from parents and it's no wonder people give up the profession!

Ugh, does anyone else feel their job is just sometimes not worth the hassle!?!?

I am hearing you on the teaching front! Really don't want to go back next year.

It only takes one small thing to make it all worth it tho!

Yep, when things get out of hand around here

Seriously tho, I have so much respect for teachers, I couldn't do it, I just don't have the patience.

I'm a teacher too, and every Friday at the school I work at for that one day a week, I come home stressed and unmotivated due to the behaviour of the students, lack of respect by them and other staff - I am counting the days until I start my maternity leave with that job!
The other school I work in is fantastic though, so that makes up for it (unfortunately my good job is only fixed term, whereas my other is permanent CRT of .28! grrr)

I remember those days (from social work though).   to you, Anna.  If it helps, I did one of my placements as a primary school social worker - I did one of the field trips with them and half an hour in a bus full of kids who all had to shout at the very tops of their squeaky little voices ALL the way had me convinced that it's only the brave that go teaching!

I have huge respect for teachers ! i went on a school trip with C to motat recently , and looking after one group of four kids was hard enough , let alone being the teacher and responsible for all of them !

and yeah , i hear you on the job front too, most people actually tell us they dont want to be there and they hate us when they first come in , which is nice, at least we are prepared

Brenna, sorry you had a crap day.
Just think of the kids, and all the cool times
I'm lucky enough to have a great school, with awesome kids and staff. I adore my job, and my kids, but get frustrated with mountains of paperwork
I love knowing that I really make a difference for some of these kids, and its really really heart breaking that so many children have such a hard time at home I have several kids I'd love to just bring home with me, and give them a yummy dinner and a bath and just some time and some love. Unfortunately we can't do that but we can make one thing in their life a good experience and that's one of the many rewarding things about teaching.
Hope you have a better day tomorrow. If you're still not having fun, its only a 9 week term and you're halfway through now

At the kindy I'm at - Horsham Downs is now our second most popular school that we feed into. It has an awesome reputation! Getting more and more kids.

Cool! There's heaps of new classrooms being built at the moment so it's pretty exciting.

What kindy are you at?

I had a crap day teaching today too - got stuck at the end of the day cleaning up freaking paint brushes - they are in sooooo much trouble next Wednesday when I'm back there! (I only work 2 days a week and still have bad days hehe [:x)

It is definitely a job where you don't get much thanks - especially teaching seniors I think!

I was much more loved when I taught juniors
Isaac is 6, Ethan is 4, Rico is 2 and Hunter is almost 1!

I had a crap day yesterday. I do relief work, mainly at the same school, and usually with my lovely yr1 class. But yesterday had a yr5-6 class, and they were kinda horrible. No respect!

But I still do it because as someone said, there are those little moments that make you smile and remind you why you chose this lovely profession.
