Wow, that is really neat. We had the same Christmas present. But ours today was actually getting to see baby's heart. It's an amazing thing isn't it? Hope you don't get too sick with baby. Is this your first child?

Congrats! We too had a similar Xmas pressie - bubs is due Aug 20th.

Chonny, did you see babys heart beating? I have been referred for a dating csan but they said I have to wait until after 7 weeks when they can see a heartbeat, which means after 8 weeks for me because I ovulated so late.

I could see the heartbeat at my dating scan, at which they estimated me as being 6w 5d - although the best picture was with the vaginal ultrasound thingy, rather than the normal one. You should ask them to try and look for it anyway, although you may not be able to *hear* the heartbeat until 12 weeks.

This will be our first child so there are a lot of emotions going on - excitement, scaredness, and definitely tiredness!! Is it normal to be utterly exhausted even though I'm on holiday and not doing very much? Fortunately I haven't had much morning sickness, although some days are worse than others...

Yep totally normal esp in the first trimester. your body is busy making everything your baby needs to survive for nine months. Also your baby is changing so rapidly at the momemnt.

Someone once told me it even might have been on this board that your body is doing the workout at the moment as if you were hiking up a mountain.

 Congrats on your pregnancy

Definitely - in the first trimester with Maya I discovered that it is possible to go from being completely awake to completely asleep sitting up . This time round I am having afternoon naps where I can, but the heat here in Sydney is making me extra tired too (Thank God for air conditioning!)

I was exhausted at the beginning of being pregnant...tons of naps although I had no idea that is was a baby!! I really thought I was anaemic..or had cancer.

Hey Yummy Mummy, i had a scan and they dated it 6wk 3days. Yes we did sese the heart beating. It was the horrible vaginal thingy but we did see it. My husband describes it as a few pixels on the screen flashing in a specific area. It was very exciting though. I agree with the tiredness thing. Before i found out i was pregnant i was really tired about 2.30ish and didn't know why. I think this kinda explains it though.
