Topic: body shape Posted: 14 July 2008 at 8:12pm |
I just bought the "How to look good naked" book but am having trouble deciding what body shape I am. Although it has descriptions I can't decide if I am pear shaped or broad as I don't have a very definate waist or petite cos i am short. Any one know where I can get more info so I can work this out? I tried googling it but didn't come up with much

I'm an apple, I got mine from Trinny and Susannah's website, what not to wear.
I have ok boobs, small bum, but large tum and hips, my tummy is my problem area. If it weren't for that i'd have the hourglass shape as my hips are the same width as my boobs.

The book looks good but haven't read too much as it is divided into body shapes and I don't know which one I am. Maybe I will get DH to help me measure and so from there.
He has descriptions like Petite are small all over, Hour glass have balanced hips and shoulders and a small waist, pear has wider hips than their shoulders - but for instance what consitutes a small waist? or small boobs? That's where I get stuck.

Hmmm I appear to not be ONE shape either....very interesting though having a look at the shapes!
In saying that I am sitting here being very realistic and thinking...well I have had nearly three kids..
Cant see ever being a size 12 again.....enjoy my food..not into stressing myself out with diets etc and as much and all as would be so much easier so far as fitting clothes.....
Its not really priority anymore!!!

One way suggested to me to figure out face shape or body shape was to stand in front of the mirror (in form fitting clothes or near-naked) and get someone to draw around your shape, then stand back and see what that shape best estimates.
I know for me using the Trinny & Susannah guide, I'm mainly hourglass with a bit of Cello thrown in... nobody will fit exactly one category.

im a personal trainer. if you have any pics i can probably figure it out pretty easy. there is also android and gynoid which help with knowing you health. (if you carry weight more round your hips and bum its not as bad for your heart and internal organs as if you carry it round your waist and boobs)

I'm pretty sure I'm an hourglass.. I know "form-hugging" v-neck tops seem to suit me best, but I'm sure as hell not wearing one of those skirts, no matter how good it looks!
I just spent an hour today helping my little sister shop for clothes (she's visiting from gisborne for a few days) and convincing her NOT to buy v-neck anything, cause she has a few sweat shirts and shirts with that, and they look absolutely dreadful, she's I guess a petite skittle (noticed her getting a little bit of a butt in the last couple of years LOL, but not enough to be "pear shaped" she's like an xs top and s bottom) and they make her look completely flat cheasted

Bugger!!! I just typed a big post, pressed the wrong button and it disappeared!
DH thinks I am a pear and we have just measured me and that seems pretty accurate.
