Topic: So who exercises? Posted: 27 March 2006 at 1:42pm |
I know that I should be exercising already, and I always 'intend' to, but I just can't get motivated after a full day at work then getting home a 6pm, having a short rest, cooking tea... it just doesn't work?
SO, I was just wondering what you gals do and how often to try keep fit.
With Maddisyn I would walk around the block EVERY night, being my first pregnancy I think I just wanted to do everything 'right'... but this time?? lol
HELP!

Frantic! You are a bad example. hahaha
Its funny though, to think I was so motivated the first time, and I'm due in the same month so i have no excuse with the weather/darknes.
But I do have another excuse!! hehe
Hubby plays rugby and its training twice a week, and I really don't feel comfortable going for a walk in the dark with just me and Maddisyn (4), and when hubby IS home, he either goes for a jog, or it just doesn't happen! lol
I think I should *TRY* go for a short walk this evening... ugh

If anyone honestly has the energy to work fulltime, keep house and exercise whilst being pregnant then I congratulate you! Personally, the last thing I want to do when I get home is cook dinner for me and hubby which is getting to be more and more of an effort, so exercising is on my "it would be nice but..." list

Hi
Ive been walking 3 times a week. I only do one night after work, and I arrange to meet people to walk with - that way I cant back out or change my mind. I did round the bays last weekend and I really enjoyed it. I used to go to the gym and run so im enjoying the relaxed exercise. I find that it gives me energy, but its really hard get motivated. Im sure i wouldnt do anything if I wasnt committed to doing it with friends.
Before I got pregnant I thought you couldn't do much exercise at all. Then after I did get pregnant - I learnt that most exercise is fine and you should. I have decided that we are much worse of than our mothers. Afterall they could eat what they wanted and wernt meant to do any exercise - best of both worlds!

hehehe. Not at all. I have advertised to find other ladies in my area so I will have someone to walk with. I have no motivation either and I am not working. I congratulate anyone that is working as well as being pregnant. I would love to be working but I moved to a new area and had no chance of finding a job and then got pregnant.
Im hoping there are some other ladies out there that wanna walk in my area. Then I hope that I will get motivated.

I've been doing HEAPS of exercise. I walk from the sofa to the fridge to collect cheesecake on at least two occasions most nights. I also have been known to walk all the way around the supermarket in search of above mentioned cheesecake.....

Ha Ha. What's excercise? Atm I can barely make it to the bathroom to be sick...
But before I got preg I was training to do the Round the Bays, running 5km 5 times a week, and am hoping to get some walking in later on when I feel better.
The only exercise I did when I was preg with Maya was aquarobics which we both enjoyed - she used to jump around like mad - so might look at that later down the track.

Sorry Trish, I think you have me confused with someone who actually exercises I do believe it's Miss Jess who does more than the Cheesecake 500.....

I figured while I was pregnant with Taine, that running around after Jake was exercise enough.
That asid, we go for walks everyday - more for our sanity than our exercise quoto.

Lazy pregnant lady checking in here again!
I forgot *brain not working today* am actually thinking of joining a pregnant yoga class! But I have to start at the begining of a month cos they do a specific programme that has levels. I was going to start in April but it's on a saturday and I will be away 2 weekends in April so maybe I will wait till May, but I am quite keen on it. And the fact that it is a Saturday is cool cos it wont be after work which i find the worst time for me to do anythin!
ANyone else done pregnant yoga before?

hahahaha!! i have to say - alot of your replies just cracked me up big time!!! hahahaha
well it seems some of you are motivated, but ALOT of you are just like *me* - can't be bothered!
preggy_sunflower - you made me laugh the most! haha I LOVE your daily routine, best by FAR.
this might sound insane, but when I was carrying maddisyn i did tai bo until I was 6 months!! lol
now i just can't be bothered doing anything but i know how much strength we need in that delivery room and I gotta stick to walking for SOMETHING.
I really don't want to do anything public... and we have a pool but we are going into winter!!
Ugh, I give up. lol
