We have the TV set up here in the office and it comes on at 12.30. Some relief for us really, as we're so understaffed it's scary and we need the break every now and then. Love watching the swimming and gymnastics, I also like the hockey (cos I played for so long), DF likes the badminton (he used to play) and we also like the rowing, equestrian and synchronised diving. Not so keen on the sailing, handball, soccer, basketball....

OMG Handball is in the Olympics?
I used to HATE having to watch my friends play that in primary, how monotonous would that be watching it on telly LET ALONE doing it as a career.

Not that kind of handball Mum2Lucas, it is a team game and they have to score goals.
I have been watching quite a bit of Badminton, I a little in awe of the players. The game is so fast but the shuttlecock moves slow, and the reach on some of the players is amazing.
Also watch the rowing, gymnastics, weightlifting, swimming and can't wait for the track and field events to start.

Tha handball is kind of like soccer, netball and basketball all mixed in to one....they have nets at each end of the court that they score goals in (like soccer goals I mean), they throw the ball to each other, can't run with it, I think they can dribble but only for about 2 steps and the ball is quite little...
That 4 x 200m relay was amazing, I can't believe they smashed the world record so easily!

Everytime I have switched over the team sports have been on, and normally countries I don't care about either so have turned it back off. I prefer the winter olympics as I love watching the ice skating and I don't mind the skiing either.

Yep I'm really picky about what I watch
Diving, Gymnastics & Equestrian - That's about it really
And Steph the Handball they play at the Olympics is like Soccer with your hands so not the playground type of handball (four or two square) that we grew up with

Yeah, kind of. I have a tiny tv on in the afternoons on mute in class (our topic is the olympics so it does link to work) and every now and then we turn it up for a bit - like when NZ is on, or Phelps is racing :) Lots of fun! I remember sitting in Biology at high school watching Danyon Loader :)
Oh, and of course I watch the equestrian!

I hadn't really thought of the olympics until last night/today. I'd like to show my girls some of the gymnastics but googling timetables for tv didn't prove very helpful. It looks like there will be male gymnastics sometime tomorrow and women's g. sometime on Friday. Anyone know more specific than that?
I used to watch the iceskating when I was little, I would love to show my girls that too.

ooops a bit late T - it was on this afternoon for a good amount of time - the girls loved watching it. They are replaying it again sometime this evening - maybe you could tape some for them?
Ayja got up last night a few times and each time was captivated by the synchronised diving - she reckons "when i'm 18 I'm going to do that"

I love the diving too. My MIL was in the Olympic team for NZ back in 1976 but she got pregnant and couldn't go (we blame my BIL it is all his fault).
