take good care of yourself? I was thinking about this the other day when I was getting DS ready for school, giving him his multivitamins & fish oil, making sure he has a good brekky, in summer I would have sunblocked him, making sure he has a good healthy lunch etcetc. I am really slack!! I eat too much crap, I never exercise (unless running around after children counts?) , I dont take my vitamins and most days I dont get around to eating breakfast til lunchtime!

I do a little. I take care of my self alot more now that I'm married and have kids - I think I want to try set a good example, especially for DH as he used to be shocking. He used to eat crap and never excercised.
I try to eat healthy, although I'm not as strict on myself as I am on DD. I have a cupboard full of vitamins which I really should be taking more often.
I probably should do more with my teeth - I do make sure that I at least brush them twice a day, and wear sunscreen most days - every day in summer.
I like to think Im pretty healthy.

Hmmm I do (although now I dont have any pregnancy hormones .. there is no excuse for me to eat crap)
I eat 5 small meals a day (which I prepare at night before bed) ensuring I get enough protein and not too much carbs or fat (which happens if Im not prepared and grab crap to eat when Im starving) and I try to drink plenty of water.
I go to the gym five days a week and DH and I do one long walk or a short run with Issy on the weekend.
I also get at least 7.5-8.0 hours solid sleep a night (thank you DD)
So I try

I kinda do. I am going to the gym 3 times a week and going to the pool with the boys once a week. My eating isn't the best as I am a savoury person and I love my chippies and crackers. I also smoke which is really bad for my health.

Becks, how do you manage to take two kids to the pool by yourself (if you do go by yourself?) I really want to take my two but can't figure out the logistics of it.
Sorry to threadjack!
I am crap at taking care of myself. Never eat breakfast. rarely eat lunch. Snack a lot, mainly on junk. Hardly exercise. I often think about this and decide I need to do something about it but never get round to it!

LOL Anna I managed to take all three of mine on my own once. Once being the operative word. Never again!
And no, I don't take care of myself and I need to. I count my vege servings but that's only coz I'm breastfeeding so I worry about having enough nutrients etc. for Chiara. But I need to get my act together, before I had the gremlins I was going to the gym 5 days a week and running 3 times a week (and 30kg smaller ) and ate really well and now I am just slack.

I don't do toooo badly. I eat tons of veggies, but struggle to eat fruit. I try to have a banana on cereal a couple of times a week, and juice up oranges and grapefruit from the trees. Sometimes I will have an apple after dinner.
We do get takeaways once a week or so which isn't ideal. Dinners are otherwise pretty healthy such as stirfrys, or lots of steamed veggies with some protein.
I eat way too much bread which is my downfall, and as I am still breastfeeding, I consider cake to be the sixth food group!
I do however walk at least an hour - hour and a half every day (giant dog), so I am already 5kgs under my pre preggy weight - yay!
Most of DS's food is homemade by me

Dh was just saying the other day how the kids eat healthier than we do. I know I make them eat fruit daily & mostly drink water, but I'm terrible with my fruit intake, and don't drink nearly enough water.
I eat breakfast, but at the moment (and it's been for sometime) I only have 2 pieces of toast, and just started drinking herbel tea instead of coffee. I've found I feel better for it, with just taking the coffee out of my diet.
I have a gym membership but it's on hold at the moment, but due to start back in September, so from then I'll have to make more of an effort to eat better.
I brush my teeth daily, but don't use mouthwash, and hardly ever floss. DH does, so I'm sure his teeth are in much better condition than mine.
In short, no I don't think I look after myself as well as I should!

Anna the pool is shallow enough that Andrew is tall enough to play in there himself. When he wants me to do stuff with him I get Josh to hold onto the side of the pool (the bar) and I do the stuff that Andrew wants me to do with him. Its not actually that hard as Andrew is big enough to be in the pool by himself. Showering and getting dressed is another story thou, Josh likes to do a runner and today I got him at the top of the stairs outside of the changing rooms , and Andrew just wants to stay in the shower.

I must try it one day! Although I remember trying to get Quinn dressed when I only had one child and that was tricky! Maybe not...
PS. Emma, you are super mum! I just can't compare myself to you!

Nah I so dont take care of myself. I never excercise, I eat crap, I do have breakfast but mostly toast. I used to be sooo much healthier than this, and I hat where Im at now. I was back to pre-preg weight when Isla was 3 months old,...now Im heavier than I have ever been (well apart from when preg!).
I drink way to much diet coke and not enough water. I dont eat sweet stuff that often, but when we buy a block of choc its gone in one night.

oh my gosh no , if our bodies are supposed to be a temple then mine is one that if you went to it , it would be covered in graffiti and housing a lot of mould
lets see, my "sins"
i drink more water than coke ,everyday , (and i work at a DENTIST!)
I used to smoke (have quit now tho)
I go to sleep at about 12 each night
have never had a vitamin
have so many takeaways that im on first name basis with the staff at the local KFC , who give me extra seasoning without me even asking ....
ok, i really need to detox myself !...right after this glass of coke .....

If you had of asked me 4 ago I would have said a big fat NO.
I have decided that I need to make a lifestyle change! I took joy in telling people when pregnant after being asked how are you, yep fat and ugly.
So I can do something about the fat!
I now exercise 5 days a week, not a lot but small change from sitting on the couch!
I drink 2 litres of water a day, gone from drinking far too much coke
We eat as a family, so the healthy meal my son has, we have too!
I have 3 meals a day, rather than 25 snacks of crap.
I treat myself once a week to a small takeaway, altho put off this week after it went right through me as my body is not used to it.
I do not take any vitamins, but ensure what I eat contains what I need (as far as I know)
Ok rant over, this is something I have had to do for myself to be able to keep up with my son. Long may the enthusiam (sp?) hang around

Not as well as I should.
I walk at least an hour a day, 5 days a week but I wish I had the motivation to exercise properly and get rid of the jelly belly.
I don't drink enough water and I eat too much fatty food.
Sometimes I remember to take my vitamins, usually when I feel like I'm beginning to come down with something though, when its too late.
I try to eat a lot of fruit, but because the kids hoover it so fast I often wind up missing out.
I am waaaaaaay too scared to take the kids swimming by myself! I found it hard enough just taking Ella when she was small and kept trying to do a runner while I was trying to get my undies on.
