Topic: first haircut Posted: 08 September 2006 at 3:57pm |
Well, it's official - the mullet has to go. Jake's hair is getting out of control so he's off for his first ever haircut tomorrow. Funnily enough, in Palmy couldn't find a hairdresser spcifically for kids - Palmy where there are more hairdressers per head than anywhere else in the country. However, Gisborne have Kidzone - he gets a lollipop, watches a movie and free certificate. was too scared to ask the price, but am kinda dreading it. Jake is a bit of a "tpouchy" kid and I can see him trying to "help". must put the scissors out of reach and chair reach or taine will be even more bald than he is...god forbid Jake try to cut MY hair!!!

He he ha ha ...love to see pics after he is finished with the cut Liz.
I remember when mum was giving Zaara her trim couple of months ago..and Zaara kept following my mums hand around because the Scissors was making noise....it took mum about an hour to give her a decent trim.
Good luck!!

In palmy I go to Rodney Wayne and when I was getting my hair cut a couple of months ago one of the girls was cutting a little girls hair for the first time. It was soo cute and she was very patient with it all

I love Palmy rodney wayne too. Jake was such a baldy too for ages Lu, thats why it's been so long to get him a cut. i feel like it tyook him so long to grow the stuff! I would've tried to cut mkyself, but several of my girlfriends have tried that and ended up with bald children and people giving her sympathetic looks at the supermarket.

Liz, 22 months is not THAT old! I can't wait for the photos... I bet he'll be really proud.
Kiya's first hair cut was last year, not long before we moved here. She was 4.5 years old... and we didn't get her hair cut because of the length, but rather just to tidy up all the wispy bits around her collar and get her fringe out of her eyes. We get her hair cut about every 4 months now, just to tidy it up again.
Her hair now might be considered shoulder length... but that's just because I'm biased and want to think my girl actually has hair!

Jake also had the "michael bolton" for a while, but after he turned one, suddely his hair took off. Anyway, cut went really well. he was such a good boy,. I nearly cried though!!!!! I was really surprised as I'm not exactly the sentimental type. It was really sad and he looks completely different. he's being a pain in the butt with the camera. when he sees it he thinks it's like a small tv for him to watch, so he runs over.

We had to cut Andrew's hair just before he turned 1 as he had alot and it matted at the back where he layed on it. It took a long time to cut. Now we (well Dh does it) clipper it as it is so much tidier for him. My mum always tell us off for cutting his hair as he has curls when gets long.

Aw he's not my little surfer boy anymore!!! (I can't believe I'm getting sentimental about it... I've only met him a few times! )
He looks great Liz Very growed up.
I got Han's hair cut a few weeks ago and it looked tidy for all of a few days... now it is back to being a mess. Ah well.
How much did it end up costing? Han's cost $15, which was the cheapest I could find anywhere!!! Extortion I tell you.

thats so funny Tarn!
I'm still upset about it to tell the the truth...not the haircut, but just Jake growing up. It's weird but its kinda like when they are babies everyone cooes and says how wonderful they are and it is all I could do not to say "i know", but now Jake is a little boy and so amazing, but everyone just sees him as another little boy. they don't see how amazing and wonderful he is, and it makes me sad that people can't see that! I know it's stupid as a lot of other people's kids (especially in the supermarket) I don't like, but I want everyone to know how special Jake is. that was the good thing about living in Japan (and maybe where all this comes from), everyone DID look at him in wonder, and take his picture and cuddle him etc. Now they don't.
Okay, hope everyone understood that babble, and at least ONE person can relate!
