Topic: Go the BLUE team!! Posted: 07 November 2006 at 9:32pm |
Hello ladies
Just thought I would get a team motivation thread going! Good luck for this week. I think my biggest challenge is going to be the water drinking. Real bad with it, but I promise I will drink my 4 glasses!!

GO GIRLS!!
I'm just sitting in front of the computer eating my breakfast (bad habit I know!)
I'm having WW cereal, plain yoghurt and strawberries, all washed down with a glass of water!! How healthy!!
It's raining here in Auckland, so if the weather doesn't perk up, I'm going to walk laps around my classroom!!

Right we've been for our walk and I'm slowly getting there with the water! I thought I would do a bit of "sharing" about my weight loss history, share a few tips for newbies to this and maybe give some of you a bit of hope that it is possible...
I first started going to WW in August 04 before I got married - first weigh in was 78.4kg but I had lost a couple of kilos before I started, so had a lot to lose. By the time I got married in early January I was down to 68.6! Then I got pregnant as soon as I got married! I put on 18kg with Hannah and I found the weight started to fall off after 6 months of bfing. I stopped feeding at 10.5 months and started back at WW 8 weeks ago - 72.8kg. Last weeks weigh in I was 66.3 so have lost 6.5kg so far!! I have found it pretty easy up until about 2 weeks ago and have found I've gone a bit off track, have probably gained this week (weigh in tonight) but that only encourages me to do better next week. Not sure on my goal weight but I think maybe 63... I know really need to tone up the midsection - esp my baby belly and butt/thighs, so thats really my main goal now, not so much the weight.
Aimees tips:
* take a before photo so you can see from the outside how much you are actually losing
* take measurements every four weeks (neck, upper arm, chest, waist, abdomen, hips, upper thigh, calf)
* its ok if you have a bad day but don't let it become an excuse to have a bad week
* set yourself a big goal (but realistic) and smaller ones with incentives that aren't food related. Depending on how much you have to lose 5kg in 6 weeks is definitely do-able. My goal is now to be 63ish by christmas. My incentives have been a new camera, new clothes and lingerie.
* I find that if I dont write down what I've been eating its easy to overeat. I can't recommend tracking enough - come to think of it, I think thats probably why I've strayed recently!
*Start with small changes. We're already doing a few like the walking and water, but also try cutting back your portion sizes and choosing healthier options.
Woah, thats turned into a novel - sorry! Didnt mean to ramble on. I would love to hear how you are all getting on, goals etc and your tips for the rest of us.

I think my biggest tip would be to be prepared. If you dont have healthy snacks at the ready a little bag of chips or a biscuit is to easy. Also for tea, decide what you are going to have ahead of time and get it as prepared as possible. When your starving even half an hour seems to long to cook something so yeah have it as prepared as possible and you will be less likely to get takeaways.
My weight history well when i started seeing my now hubby almost 12 years ago I was 49kgs then went on the pill and went up to 60kgs (was horrified but little did I know....) then had Kobe and gained 25kgs!!!!! didnt really lose it in between him and the twins which i of course lost and then was depressed so gained some more weight and then got preggie with addison and gained about 15kgs with her, have got down to almost my pre addison weight but still have miles to go. Did ww in between about 3 times but never stuck with it, have never stuck with anything to be honest but this time Im determined. I want to be comfortable taking the kids swimming and have enough energy to run around with them and not just wnat to sit on the couch. So please ladies feel free to tell me off if I say i havent exercised, I need all the encouragement i can get.

Well, I've just been for my walk. I walked up to the local Woolies instead of driving. Feel really good!! I've just been on MapMyRun.com, to see how far I walked, and it was 2.4km. Not bad!!
Water has been good today, I'm normally pretty good with that anyway.
My 10 year weight history is as follows: always around 75kg as a teenager, then after a stint in hospital got to 85kg. Went to WW and went down to 68kg. Went to London and got the Heathrow injection!! Went up to the high 70s again. Was back around 73 when I met my Hubby. Was very strict on myself the year prior to the wedding, at one stage was 63kg, but settled for 65kg. Now I'm back in the 70s!
Goal is 69kg by Christmas. Goal weight would be 65/66. I'd just be happy to get into the wardrobe full of clothes that don't fit me!!!
I can see this forum helping though, so keep it up girls.
Off to do my crunches before H&A!

I've done my walk and crunches today too. I've not been so good on the water, but have had a 750ml Pump bottle full of it so it's better than what I usually do! I might even indulge in some pilates later on before bed.
At the beginning of this challenge, I thought heck! Jez wants us to exercise every single day!!! But when I was out there walking (with no pram, listening to some mad tunes on my mp3 player which was bliss!) I thought it's good to be every day because then I don't get the chance to say 'oh well I didn't walk today but I will tomorrow' and then saying the same thing again tomorrow! Much easier to say that if the challenge was set at say 4 times a week. So all good with the every day thing!! It's great motivation.

well so far so good this morning, had crumpets for breakfast which are suppose to be 99% fat free. My problem today is I have 4 children to look after teo 3yr olds and a 4yr old plus addison, all have wee colds and runny noses and I was planning on taking them to the park for a run around but its not the warmest so it would be pretty irresponsible of me aye....

Go Blue team!
I went for a walk today, and had sushi for lunch, good and healthy. And expressed a gallon of milk (which is kind of cheating... )
No crunches here yet tho - my post baby muscles aren't quite up to it yet.

Been a bit quiet blue team!!! I have had a bad day today sorry, well not terrible but didnt get for a walk, I did do some skipping though and have had at least 6 glasses of water and done my crunches. eating well that wasnt too flash, had a bowl of ice cream for dessert but did have steamed vegetables for tea instead of pasta or potatoes so that will hopefully out weigh the ice cream.
Thats a good trick Emma, if you havent lost any weight just do some expressing! Hey if anyone is buying the secret santa for the red team and havent sent it yet make sure you include some chocolate!!! sneaky i know but Im a sneaky person hehe
