Okay I think I feel queasy already, and if any gent has had the misfortune to click onto this topic, he may wish to back quietly out

Fibroids. What can you tell me about them? My mum has them, has had for quite a while but she is rather anti-medical-intervention so hasn't done anything about it. But I hear that they can be more common in women in the same family, even though no one knows what their cause is. So my questions are:
Do I have a high chance of getting them?
How will I know if I have them?
Are they endo? Or only endo if in a certain place? Or not endo at all?
When can they develop up to (e.g. anytime up to menopause)?
Am I unlikely to get them before I turn 30?
Anything else?

Thanks!

I know BS has them so hopefully she see this post Teresa and she can answer some questions for you.

However I would think you may a high chance of getting them as there is a family history of them. I know my cousin got them when she was young and I know she has had 2 op's to get rid of them but they keep coming back for her.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!
