Well the inevitable happened today, Gabrielle had a tumble. Unfortunately this tumble was down a flight of 10 stairs (carpeted). Yeap, I feel dreadful about it but it happened. The stairs now have a gate at the top of them so this won't be repeated.

She cried very loudly when it happened but stopped pretty quickly after a cuddle and immediately started pointing and talking and went back to playing. She has no visable bruises or anything.

Should I be worried about injury / concussion or do I assume she is fine? The fall happened at about 9.30 this morning.

Now if I could only stop thinking about what COULD have happened..scary stuff!

She'll be okay, if there was concussion she wouldn't have been acting her usual self this afternoon; sleepy, unbalanced, etc. When we moved house both my girls (then 14mos and 33mos) went 'a tumblin down' our stairs on the second day and that's probably about 12-14 stairs in one go.

Olivia *dived* off the change table when she was around 8/9 months old. She hit a wooden chest and a large plastic toy as well as smashing into the base of the table itself. I took her immediately to get checked up, fractures and bruises are one thing but concussion is quite another. Turns out I have a rubber baby! Besides a very big lump above the base of her skull she was fine.

im guessing she was ok all day cause you posted about 12 hours later...so as long as she was ok and no signs of concussion etc...juss loads of cuddles probably needed and probably a nice drink for mummy to calm nerves??? Ella finally toppled this am while sitting and hit her head on a FP farmyard...got up and kept on - me I was looking for a big fat bruise that never showed....
there is gonna be a lot more of this to come

Ella did the same thing, at the same age!
And then again a few months later!!
She was fine, luckily at this age they are still fairly bendy and don't try to stop themselves from falling.
There wasn't a mark on her and after a good cry both times (more from me than her!) she was her usual self
