I have my isster visiting from the UK next month at the same time on in laws are away. They are the only people that have babysat Rohan so far as he is only 3 months old.
Is there a registered service of babysitters in Chch I could use as we are new to the area and don't know anyone well enough to ask them?
there is a babysitting service you can use, I can find out the name for you if you like, I dont think they are that cheap though. What area are you in?
Also ask around on here as there is quite a few ladies on here from ChCh who may be able to recommend a baby sitter they use who is good and reliable!
I can't as not quite there yet!!
I dont really have a babysitter as such, my neice is only 14 and man am i hanging out till she is old enough to babysit. I do have a lady in my coffee group who has a 16yr old daughter who charges really reasonable rates but she has only got her restricted and has to be home by 10.30. the other ladies in my coffee group have used her and loved her, she is really nice (Ive meet her heaps just never needed to use her so far) her wee sister is the same age as addison so she is really good with babies. Of course the other option is one of us chch mothers if you get really stuck if it was a once off, there are a few of us on here.
do you have any friends who have a babysitter that they can recommend or let you use? try that first....thats how I used to get babysitting and nanny work and had a heap more great feedback from people than being a qualified registered nanny - and a lot more work too...sometimes you dont need all the qualifications...just the tender touch and a good heart!
