I know I don't really look 25, but apparently I don't sound it either! This is exactly how a phone conversation I just had went:

Me: "Hello, Becca speaking."
Her: "Hi, is your mum there?"
slight pause while I decide whether or not to tell her that my mum went home yesterday after visiting for the long weekend
Me: "Who are you after?"
Her: "Mrs. Louwrens." (she probably thought I was an idiot by now)
Me: "Speaking."
Her: "Oh! Umm... This is a nurse from the pediatric unit at Wanganui Health blah blah blah..."

Poor woman! She must have been so embarrassed! Nice that Wanganui Health ring up with reminders the day before your appointment though. All I could do when I hung up the phone was laugh.

Haha hilarious!!

So funny when people do that! Has happened to me quite a few times... But then I reckon we all sound different on the phone - I hope so anyway cause I'd hate it if I was constantly talking like a lil girl...

I'm 31 and have only just stopped being asked for id in the supermarket when buying wine!! It's nice.... enjoy it while it lasts!! I'm beginning to look pretty haggard with this pregnancy though - hope that passes.

lolol - that's funny Becca.

Mike gets that all the time - his voice is higher than mine - especially when he is being polite on the phone.. and usually geta called miss or ma'am. lol once - after i had had ayja - i was on the phone talking to ird, and they put me on hold while they went to find something out - ayja started crying, so mike took the phone and ended up finsihing the conversation with them and they didn't even know the difference - it cracked us up a LOT! Sometimes it makes him angry though - once he had someone make a complaint about him and the complainant described him as "a female voice" he got really angry! usually when he rings the bank or visa company or whatever he has to go through all the details before they believe it's actually him on the phone - most of the time now - he'd rather go in in person than have to go through all that by phone.
