Topic: prefolds, pockets, fitted or AIO??? Posted: 26 September 2007 at 8:33am |
Once I made the decision to go cloth I just though I would get to buy a few cute bottom covers and hey presto, I am a cloth Mummy...but no!
I have already asked the question to where to start and thanks everyone that helped me out.
Now I would like to know what type of nappy people use the most, prefolds, pocket, AIO's or fitted.
I just bought my first pocket yesterday (YAY YAY YAY) but would like to know what type people seem to use the most

I've tried a couple of AIOs (different brands) but none were any good for Miss Piddle Bum and her yummy thighs. It's a shame, because a lot of AIOs come in cool prints *sulks*
So we're 100% pockets

At the mo, we are mainly prefolds and snazzipants fleece cover but I do have a bubblebub AIO and if I was rich I'd have a dozen of those....so easy, so absorbant, and dry quick...and look amazing.

I love pockets too - easier to dry and adjustable for different clothes/times of day. But I was recently introduced to bubblebubs and they do look pretty cool! I wonder if you could add "inserts" to them for nights? Well anyway I'd love to have a stack of those for days - like nzpiper
Oh the best thing with pockets for me, is that I have 1 1/2 days' supply of pockets but twice as many inserts. So I just about always have a day of inserts drying at any one time. Especially good over winter.

Definitley Pockets Charlotte, although we too have a couple of really cute AIO's.
Pockets mean you can change the absorbancy to suit, so if you are going out or for overnight you can use the same nappy and just stuff it with more or less inserts to suit you need. I also find the pockets dry heaps faster than the AIO's.
Prefolds are mostly just for Newborns, but are great stuffers for pockets after. We use a prefold folded in three as well as a fuzzy insert in Sam's nighttime nappy and never have any leaks!

Mostly pockets here too, but I do have 8 Bubblebubs AIO's and I love them, in fact am about to start a new thread about how one lasted 5 hours on Mercedes without a leak this morning! I've also got some Berry Plush AIO's but they're more like a cover with a snap in soaker than a true AIO, and I've got a heap of prefolds which I use to stuff my pockets with.
