Hi, I haven't had PCOS but I did have endometriosis which caused fertility problems. One of the sites I came across which had quite useful stuff on it was Sharkey's Healing Centre. They had an e-book on endometriosis and they have one on PCOS also. Of course everything costs money in the infertility game just to add insult to injury.

http://www.sharkeyshealingcentre.com.au/books.php

I don't know what part of the country you are in but there is a naturopath in Auckland that specialises in fertility stuff. If you are wanting to go down the natural route and you want her details, just reply here and I'll get them for you. Her name is Loula George.

Thanks girls scarecrowfarm Im north of Auckland, I do go to acupuncture in auckland so it would be great if you could possibly provide me with her details
Since AF arrived ive noticed that its different to usual (sorry if tmi) its heavier (mines normally REALLY light) and different in colour, so i think the acupuncture must have done something!

Kye, I don't have PCOS but decided to try acupuncture as a way of me proactively doing something to help my fertility (and sanity - got to about the 8th month without any luck and it was getting to me a bit!).

I've now been going every 10 days/fortnight or so, generally once in the period before OV (about CD3) and again once after OV (about CD15). I have noticed a gradual change in my cycles, for the better - I have less 'symptoms' as in gassyness, headaches, OV pain and most recent AF was better to deal with (less pain) and a brighter 'redder' blood (sorry TMI but that's really good apparently!).

I am also on two different Chinese Herbs, again for pre and post OV, to help my Kidneys (which rule fertility in Chinese Medicine, and they had poor 'vibrations' when I started but have greatly improved). I've also noticed I feel more energised generally and it helps with stress relief too!

All the best in your experiences with acupuncture, I have been told it's a gradual thing and not something that makes major differences straight away so I'd perservere a bit longer if I were you!

Kye, you sound a lot like me. You'll try anything and everything to achieve your dream. Here's the website with Loula's details.

http://www.naturalfertility-womenshealth.co.nz/profiles.html

Be warned. Going the natural route like this can be really pricey. I think I ended up paying around $400 on the consultation/herbs at my first visit, and then it was close to $200 per month after that. However at the end of it I was super healthy and we have a gorgeous healthy baby to show for it. I added up the cost of conceiving Lucy which included surgery, lipiodol flushing, naturopathy, acupuncture etc and it was around $15000. Just hope the next one doesn't end up costing that much money because I'm not sure we could afford it now.

Good luck with it all too!!!!

Hi again, the last time I was there they were in Marsden Ave in Mount Eden/Balmoral area. They were talking about moving into a new facility and if I recall correctly it was around Mt Eden, but I'm not sure whether they've done that yet.

Loula is a herbalist as well so she'd probably be able to work out what could be taken concurrently. A lot of them are similar anyway.

I was referred to an acupuncturist by a friend who was being treated for Endo and had great results. Acupuncturist is very positive about getting results as he has in the past.

Hi there!
I've been lurking on this thread and hoping to find some answers. I will be returning to NZ (Auckland) from Japan in January and want to look into acupuncture for infertility. I have been TTC for one year and was told that I may have uterine polyps and or fibroids. I understand that TCM can help with this but I don't know where to begin as I've never had acupuncture before or used Chinese herbs. I'm quite keen, though.

Mellybelly, It'd be great if you could post the details of Sam Corban's practice as I couldn't find it on the net. And I'd also love to know how your first session went.
Am
