Topic: Scan tomorrow ! Posted: 17 November 2005 at 9:20pm |
So I have my dating scan tomorrow so we can figure out exactly how far along I am, and get a better idea of when I'm due. The only trouble is that because of that fact that we don't know exactly, I still have to fill my bladder up with a litre of water an hour before the appointment - AUGH !! I hate holding it in !! But I guess it will all be worth it, esp. if we get a decent picture - might even get to put it on DVD as well I'm back to a combo of both excited and nervous at the same time

try and take a large sipper bottle with you - and you'll find it so much easier - it will just dissaper like that - also try and have it kinda all in one go - so you aren't busting for ages - it should just reach you bladder before you need to go in for the scan.

when i had my early scans in Japan, they put the "scanning machine thingy"( hope i'm not confusing anyone with my medical terminology) up into the vagina and see the baby that way until about 12 weeks. That way I didn't have to drink so much...or anything really.

Well, we're about to leave for the appointment (just in case of traffic, even though it's not that far), and I had my litre of water about 35 mins ago and I am sooo BUSTING !!
But hopefully all bodes well at the scan... *crosses fingers and everything else*

I;'m getting a scan done next week some time. Wasn't going to bother but when I was pregnant with Jake he had a slightly enlarged kidney, which meant they needed to give him another scan at 3 days. So at 4 weeks (!!!) he got the scan and was fine but figured I should make sure B2 is fine. that and i like the pics!

Aww I missed out on early scans. I wish I'd been able to see the progress. Although I guess I saw progress from 16 weeks to 20 weeks to 33 weeks. But still, would have been cool to get excited over a little tiny peanut baby!!!

yeah i never got any early ones either - only one at 20 wks with paris and one at 20 wks with Ayja, then 33 wks cos they were worried that she wasn't growing.. but ha ha ha, she was, she just liked to lay low in my belly, , she was perfect size!, scary though cos i think at the scan she was just on 5 pound, and in that last 5 weeks she only put on another 1 pound. tiny mite

With Kiya I had one scan at approx. 26 weeks to see how far along I was.
With Josiah, I had scans at 7, 11, 12 and 20 weeks because of the bleeding. My midwife wanted more done, but we didn't want to pay $20 every week to be told nothing was wrong!
