went to rotorua on the weekend for Lewis' cousins wedding. not so good! the motel was okay. But the whole plan was for the boys to go to bed at the usual time and for my SIL's MIL to babysit. well, the boys wouldn't settle "this isn't my bed mama". So we never ended up getting back for the reception (well, we got tea - turns out Taine is an island boy - man can he chow down on raw fish and mayonnaise, and taro and poke - not sure on the speeling) - anyway, Jake played nicely with his cousins.

next day we had promsied to take jake to Paradise Valley to see the baby lions. he talked about this to everyone - cousins, uncles, nanas, guy in the supermarket. we get there and the baby lions are 7 months old and a little big - actually as big as Jake. Anyway, he freaked out, and said "no, lions are scary" and wouldn't go near them! I kept saying "mum will come with you" and he said "no they don't like me". they lions i might add were sleeping at the time so not being particulary frightening. so no cute pics with jake and the lions.

but get this - this morning he wakes up "see the baby lions Mama?"

I said it in the other thread, but, don't go away with toddlers! Hannah did this to me on Saturday night like Emma said and I was so gutted to miss the dinner - was really looking forward to it. She went to sleep then woke up when I put her into Maya's room and apparently that 20 inutes sleep was enough to get her through until 10pm! Grrr, and she didnt want to stay with the nanny - but she was really cute and cuddly when she stopped screaming!

Anyway Liz, am so sorry you missed going out by yourselves too. Maybe in a few years time! And lol at Jake and the Lions.
