Topic: Colours and Bum Genius Posted: 29 October 2007 at 11:44pm |
Hi again...
You are all going to probably get sick of my questions!
Just wondering... I am quite into white nappies on Baby's (yes I am a bit boring!) but wondering how well they stay white for with all the roaming around baby's do and if they stain very easily when they are toddlers? (as my baby is only 5 months old its hard to know what a toddler is like!)
And Im thinking about getting some Bum Genius Nappies... what are the colours like in real life and are velcro a bad idea for toddlers getting them off?!
Thanks again for all your help!!
Emma xx

I love the colours of the BG nappies. We have white and yellow (butternut?) pockets and the blue and green AIOs. Our whites are still just as white as they were when we bought them.
Kaleb is only 6 months so can't help with your Qs about toddlers.

I have grasshopper and love it. All my other nappies are coloured except one white one, I love him having a colourful butt.
All mine are velcro and I have been wondering the same thing as he has already started grabbing at them, will just have to make sure he always has a bodysuit poppered over them I suppose.
I find the velcro more adjustable than poppers though, is hard to know which is best.
Can't really tell you how the hold up with crawling etc, as we haven't reached that stage yet

Daniel has already learnt about velcro. He pulls at his couple of nappies that have them, he tries with snaps but doesn't get anywhere! hehe
We had some white fuzzis. They didn't stain but did loose that really nice new white look pretty quickly. I didn't notice it though until I compared it with a new one.

The white may get a bit yellow looking over time, but the same as anything else white ...
toddlers and velcro can be tricky, but then so can snaps. Toby (hes 2) can take off nappies with either snaps or velcro but gabriel never bothered with either, so it will depend on the child.
the advantage with coloured nappies is you can colour co ordinate them with their clothes in summer...so cute!

Alex wears a dome up top over his nappies so that he doesn't try to undo them, but so far he has never tried anyway.
I have the butternut and grasshopper BG and love them. They are probably the best nappies I have tried.

I can only say from a sposies view point, but Hannah started ripping those off about 10 months. It was freaking impossible to keep a nap on her!! Which is one of the reasons I switched to cloth. hehe

I was going to say the same sort of thing as Nikki. Velcro on MCN is really no different to the fastners on disposables. (when it comes to we ones taking them off that is!!)
