Topic: When tap water goes yucky :S Posted: 01 November 2007 at 10:38pm |
The tap water at our work is sometimes alright but lately it's been getting worse and worse. It's cloudy and smelly and tastes yuck and I've poured heaps of it straight down the sink. But in the meantime, I'm thirsty at work! What do you do? I bought myself a 3L just juice today and I think I might just stick with water at home

I'd avoid it Once you drink the juice you could use the bottle and fill it with tap water from home and take that to work. A lot of lugging around but it depends on whether you prefer water there or not.

Tell PNCC.. they can flush the lines near you guys (it could be a section of the lines or just you guys) or it could be something in the pipes around the building. They can test to find out.

Our water is always yuck.
We got a filter jug which we keep in the fridge, you can have it if you want?
We ended up getting a filter tap, as you can't drink the water in Feilding it tastes foul.

Feilding water must of changed a lot then cos I loved it and preferred it over Palmy water while I was at school. I made sure I filled my water bottle up in Feilding before I went to school.

It has changed, in the last year it has developed a horrible mouldy smell and taste, then they get over zealous with the treatment and it tastes like swimming pool water. Its not nice, showering and brushing your teeth with mouldy water.

Thanks everyone, I did think about the lugging water idea but I park my car 500m away and I don't think I can be bothered I think I might raise the idea of a water cooler with them. Looks like first call will be PNCC though. Thanks for that Stacey.

we have a water cooler but at last place we had a refill system for it instead of bottles...a lot cheaper for you to tell the boss about...you fill from tap and then it filters it etc...
then i always add a dash of lemon and barley etc to it...i keep a bottle in fridge at work and at home...always...I cannot drink plain water!

Have a chat with the person in charge of Health and Safety at your work (legally there should be one). It is a health issue and they should be able to help.
