Topic: Some days its just tough Posted: 04 December 2007 at 6:45pm |
You know how it is. Little fella stops eating meat as he doesn't like the taste or isn't ready yet. Then because I was pushing a bit too much, he's now gone off veggies and today he doesn't like formula!
So he's back to waking a couple of times a night.
I feel like a failure which is stupid because he is doing well but you know how it is some days?
Daddy is doing bathtime on his own tonight so maybe we'll have a better day tomorrow
Fingers crossed!

Yep unfortunatley some days suck! It will get better! Are you sure there isnt another reason hes off his food/milk? Teething? A cold? etc. It may be something else putting him off feeding, rather than anything you have done!

He's just over six months and had been eating his veggies brilliantly. We introduced meat a couple of weeks ago and he wasn't keen so we went back to mainly veggies with a sneak of meat every now and then.
So far today he has had 50ml of formula at 7am and 80ml at 10am. He would normally have 150ml at each feed.
I've started writing down what he's having and will keep an eye on him. No signs of any teeth and he hasn't got a cold - he seems happy enough -just Mum who is a worrier!

the title says it all hon, my shoulders kind of slumped a bit when I read it cos I know exactly what you mean, some days are just tough and nothing seems to go right at all, which would be OK if only you could just get a wee bit of extra sleep..
I really hope today is not one of those days for you

 Your not a failure.
Perhaps it is just the hot weather upsetting things, Spencer has been sleeping more and eating less (and waking at night for a feed). Do you give water as well as formula, Spencer was never over keen but once it got hot I think he realised it was quite refreshing. Plunket told me it was ok to add 5ml of apple juice to 50ml of water at first if they won't drink it.
Hope today is going better for you.

Got my periods back today so that may explain my mood a bit! Ro woke at 1 and 4 last night fed at both times OK.
He's only had about 500ml so far today with 2 feeds to go. I've gone back to veggies and he's eaten about 40gms of pumpkin and sweetcorn and 1/5 a banana today .
Not sure whether to change his formula to the 6 month + one as Plunket nurse said not to bother but everyone else seems to upgrade at 6 months.

I never up graded, we used Nuture plus with Ashlyn right up till swapping to milk just after 12 mths. Anastasia wouldn't take any formula at all.
